Unlocking the extra cores of those AMD processors are no guarantee. Some AMD processors had permanently unlocked because its core(s) are defective. Some also are made temporarily unlocked for the reasons like its market demand and AMD doesn't have much time to unlocked each of them. I got that source from youtube about that facts but I forgot the links. I will post soon for additional resources.
What our fellow istoryan's advised you was correct its your decision whatever you may prefer. But remember its no guarantee.
