i love dogs... but what difference are they with horses?
kaluoy sa dogs? ever knew what they feed those dogs with? far more expensive in monetary terms than what regular people eat...
the sad truth is.....there are people who can afford and who cannot...
if quisumbing supports this, fine... he can afford this "sport" as some of them call it... not all people can...
oh yeah... i forgot to mention... i had dogs... never had one anymore kay di ma-atiman...
get hurt with what? racing? like how pi-ang? any difference kung ma-paakan sila kun mag-bugno?
if you haven't noticed, dog-racing ang topic... dili BUGNO sa iro... dili pitbull dogfight...which i am against...
Di man tingali angayan ang poodle ipalumba.Bitaw, greyhounds are the fastest and these are the breed of choice.
The problem is not nga ma pi-ang or ma bugno ang iro. The problem here is what happens to the dogs once their racing days are over. They are simply discarded like some piece of trash. Patyon lang. Which is why I said very few race dogs die of old age. That to me is what makes dog racing unacceptable.
Here is what PETA has to say about the issue. Please take time to read:
Please join PETA and other animal groups Animal Kingdom Foundation Inc. (AKF), Compassion and Responsibility for Animals (CARA), Earth Island Institute Philippines (EII Philippines), and The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in a protest to let senators know that the Philippines is no place for greyhound racing. If passed, House Bill 5291 will allow developers to build a dog-racing track in Mandaue City. This will lead to the suffering and deaths of thousands of dogs every year.
All around the globe, the greyhound-racing industry's animal welfare record is dismal. The so-called sport is considered so cruel that it has been banned in more than 30 U.S. states. In countries around the world, an increasingly informed public is no longer willing to support an industry that mistreats greyhounds. Just this year, in Guam, former racing dogs were left to die, hungry, at the local track after it closed because of dwindling profits.
Many greyhounds develop crate and muzzle sores and acquire both internal and external parasites. Although their lack of body fat and their thin coats make them extremely sensitive to temperature extremes, in the Philippines, greyhounds would be forced to race in temperatures that reach 32°C and above. Various ailments—including broken legs, heatstroke, and heart attacks—claim the lives of many dogs. And when they are no longer fit to race, many racing dogs are dumped or shot and left for dead. Many discarded greyhounds have their tattooed ears or their heads cut off to prevent anyone from identifying the owner.
Dogs used in racing know nothing but misery. Their world is reduced to a tiny kennel and a lifetime of servitude.
Filipinos must immediately make their objections to this proposal known loud and clear. Please join us in speaking up for animals!

pwede man tingali na dli patyon boss, sa america tingali or other parts of the globe
hence here sa PI,specially cebu mahal kau ang greyhound rather than killing them pwede man e pet nmo
or ipa adopt sa kadtong mga dog lovers pud nga ganahn ug greyhound nga breed who unfortunately cant
afford of getting one and adoption screening should apply,
Easier said than done. Of the dozens of greyhounds who race every year and are retired, how many actually find good homes? Most are put to sleep, i.e. killed. And let's face it. Greyhounds are not easy dogs to keep. My barkada has one and it's driving him nuts because it is so hyper (like I warned him).
uhmm AFAIK it wouldnt be posible here in cebu to race Dozens of greyhounds in cebu
u may know someone who has it , but it will be a few who participate in this dog sport cause the cost
or maybe some doesnt have time ,
i dont own a greyhound but it would be such a lovely breed to have,
i personally, is active in the pitbull scene ,
ive seen many pitbull breeders ,owners and lovers
but only a few of them participate in dogshows, wieght pulling, or any pitbull activities..
you may own a certain dog breed but is it enough just to walk them and keep them in cages?
"any dog breed could be such a pain in the a$$ if u dont raise them well,My barkada has one and it's driving him nuts because it is so hyper (like I warned him)
