Unfortunately the dogs WILL be abused. They are nothing more than objects or commodities.

Very few racing greyhounds will ever die of old age. The moment a race dog is past its racing prime, or if the owner sees the dog isn't running well, it will be put to sleep. By lethal injection, if it's lucky. By more brutal means (bludgeoning, electrocution, etc...) if it isn't. One alternative is to put them up for adoption but let's face it--very few people will ever want to adopt a hyperactive greyhound.
