is science a fact?
is science a fact?
Good point nasyo but yes science is an accepted logical fact. That already undergo scrutiny and testing with an empirical result. But not all...
@rodsky
The one you posted centers the question "PROVE ME WRONG".
This is not always the case in science. There are definite laws and rules in science. Take for instance:
1 Km = 1000meters
1 Kg = 1000grams
How can you as a question "prove me wrong" when it is already definite and defined by science as foundation of measurement.
What your link told you are the Theories that are supported by theories in general. That is why I also agree on this matter.
In science, measurement is the process of obtaining the magnitude of a quantity, such as length or mass, relative to a unit of measurement, such as a meter or a kilogram.
Measurement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ill give you another analogy bro:
Computer is science right? Computer runs certain protocol. Most of this protocol were managed by IEEE Organization. Its not about who establish or when it was establish. It is a method to standardize a method of doing things, so we can communication is no barrier.
Again, these are SCIENTIFIC METHOD of doing things and yes it is SCIENTIFIC.
^^ you were not talking about measurement. you were giving an example of metric conversion which I pointed out is just a standard - a protocol as you mentioned.
I was referring to measurement and how it was given a logical meaning through conversion. If you think conversion is not scientific but logical, then you are taking away the major essence of science which is to materialize and give sense to things we thought of.
I do not know how do you deal measurement and conversion. Is it science? hmmm...
I think science deals with knowledge that can be gained empirically--can be observed and tested. Ang kanang mga measure like 1km=1000m...that's a priori....sa logic mana. Ang logic naay proof pero everything empirical can always be falsified if the evidence presents itself; hence, all theories in science no matter how strong is not "proven" because it's always possible that they can be wrong.....for example, kung naa ra diay ta sulod sa Matrix
Although...naa pud gitawag na Formal science now I'm confused.
If you take out logic in science... then this is where problem scientist are trying to figure out.
When you do testing of something and the result doesn't make sense... then its not science... Its called mystery.
Logic & science.
Night and Day = Sun + Earth's Rotation.
Universal Constant.
Time , Space , Matter, Gravity
Not scientific but logical? Did you just say that? Murag contradicting pre.
Setting standards for measurement is NOT a science bai. It is an agreement so we have a means with making consistent values for measurement. It is APPLIED in science but this is not LIMITED to science. Most of all, science did NOT create formulate those values but the other way around. Ngano? Magmeasure ko ug tubig sa kabo para magluto ko science diay na? I take note how much I used so I can tell another cook to use the same amount. If nagbuot siya ug iyahang size sa kabo magkabulyaso ang niluto.

--- Metrology is defined by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) as "the science of measurement, embracing both experimental and theoretical determinations at any level of uncertainty in any field of science and technology." [1]. The ontology and international vocabulary of metrology (VIM) is maintained by the International Organisation for Standardisation.
Most of all, science did NOT create formulate those values but the other way around.
--- science did not create eclipse either.
Magmeasure ko ug tubig sa kabo para magluto ko science diay na?
--- yes, did you know that ratio and proportions are applied science? Why man mag measure paka when pede raman nmo e dretso ang tubig. Is it because of ratio? Brad bsan og natulog ta there is science about it (thats another story).
