.. people are wondering why this film won the Best Picture award, hhhmmm, i suggest you watch it, but don't watch it expecting a lot of action, no, this is not an "action" war film, it's an emotional film, it might be fiction but it sure looks and feels real. it's scary at times. Not for the "faint-minded" people this film is, nyeheehe

.. i might add, that this film is very relevant to the current global issue. Avatar was spectacular, but the story is common and bland, a love story is so over rated, the visual was the only breakthru of Avatar. But with Hurt Locker, the opening scene was such a doozy, i watched it using earphones and my face very close to my monitor, it felt like i was there, nyehehehe.. that's how people should watch this movie, put yourself in one of the characters shoes and for sure you'll get scared out of your wits.

well honestly wala kaau ko malingaw sa hurtlocker kay daghan kaau dialogue...kaso lang maski dragging ang story pero consistent jed iya objective to be realistic mao na difference sa avatar nga fantastic ra pod kaau...for the records wla paman tingale animated film nakadaog sa oscar not unless cgro if the judges is a new generations

It might not be one, but Bigelow was kind enough to insert delicious sequences like stumbling upon the PMC's followed immediately by wild firefight in the middle of nowhere

And the cameos are really startling.

FYI this movie has been circulating around Cebu for over a year now. If I'm not mistaken I saw it summer of 2009 pa.

I don't think the academy voters disliked James Cameron and that shouldn't be a ground for Avatar losing to Hurt Locker man sad. Like hello, tan-awa sad tawn to story sa Avatar. hrhr. Visual breakthrough raman ang Avatar w/c is an accomplishment in itself but should't be the sole basis for winning the Oscars.

As for The Hurt Locker, it's an excellent movie all throughout. Magsakit imong dughan sa kakulba. haha. i love the explosions too. So fresh and not typical for a Hollywood movie.

Ang nanompanya sa Hurt Locker was the co-producer. Bigelow directed the movie alone and na-banned from the Oscars event raman tong co-producer which is appropriate. Alangan man i-disqualify ang whole movie para lang sa sayop sa isa ka producer diba? And besides, di man sad kana ang basehan sa pagpili ug Best Picture.
