City Ordinance 2031 prohibits the disposal of wastes that were not segregated as biodegradable/compostable, non-biodegradable, reusable/recyclable, hazardous/special wastes, and bulky wastes; disposal of hazardous/special wastes together with other wastes; disposal of wastes outside the schedule day of collection; disposal beyond the scheduled time of collection; and the mixing of source-separated wastes.




Any person found guilty of violating any provisions of the ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not less than P1,000 or by imprisonment of not less than one month to not more than six months or both at the discretion of the court. However, a violator may opt to settle his/her liabilities by paying out-of-court a compromise fee of P500 upon application of the violator and approval of the City Mayor or his authorized representative.
