    ok..got your point bro.

actually bya, ilisan man unta ni nko sauna pa. naay koy nkit-an nga PSU, nalingaw lang ko sa itsura..gahi kaau og nawong. mahal pud raba mga more or less guro 5K (dli ko sure sa price kay dugay nato). pro somebody told me, kaya raman na sa imo PSU karon..magamit paman na. gasto2x lang ka. (iya pud to) sunod pud ko..hehehe

cge kung magdugang ko HDD, dapat ilisan jud ni nako akong PSU nga generic og branded gyud nga PSU..
the question still..pila ka watts? would it still be 500w or higher na? if dli na 500w..ngano man, dli na kaya sa 500w? unsa atong basehan?

    thanks

usually 20watts na para mo start-up daw ang usa ka HDD na murag higher na ang capacity so getting from the 12volts p=iv so mga 1.7amps na siya dipende ra sad na siya sa HDD na imong i taod making sure na you have enough amps to power-up your entire setup labi na nig load sa tanan kanang start-up.

sa tinuod lang no dili man watts sa PSU jud imo tan-awon. ang imo tan-awon kay kanang sa 12volts niya kung sa 12volts man gani imong HDD or sa 5volts kung dira man sad gani mag kuha ug power. ang PSU naa na silay alocated watts on a certain voltage gi addup na tanan para mo comeup anang 500watts psu etc2x combination nana daan sila. lahi2x ug specification standards ang mga PSU karon akoa kay ver 2.3 ni siya mga 100 amps sa 12volts quadrail, so mga 25amps per rail. kana man gud mga generic halos di ka kita naa dual rail so meaning usa ra ka rail nag salig tanan nimong 12volts so if ma tuok na siya sa kadaghan sa iyang gi supplyan ara nana mag sugod imong problema. so even a lower wattage na PSU na true power ug branded. basta dako lang na allocate para sa 12volts or sa 5volts whichever is used ara ka mag agad.

nice... asa man ta ani mka palit?

@ Dee_Dee -- you might want to read this.

The Bargain Basement Power Supply Roundup Review

You don't need to buy 5k PSUs. Pwede naman tag 2k+ like HEC, Coolermaster, Gigabyte, Thermaltake, etc. nga 500W

@ siopao -- di ko matingala kung one of these days naa na na sa CDRKing

@dee_dee: if ur pc has been running for 3 years na nya wala pay pawng2x usahay then it should be ok. dili man sad power hungry imung setup. most people jud who uses branded psu's kay tungod tag-as kaayo specs that they wont want it to be damaged or killed by a generic psu. uban pud mag branded kay tungod sa video cards labi na mid-high end na mu.draw ug power sa psu so mas maayo branded kay kasaligan pero naa man gihapon mulikoy na branded. u can search here in istorya naay mga problema gihapon ilang branded. so it doesnt mean branded kasaligan na cya. choose wisely.

    @TS
compute your total power supply needs through link below....(results assume your using true power/80+ efficiency psu's)
    eXtreme Power Supply Calculator

now if your using any "generic" psu(iMaster is also generic.), it can only give its rated power @ about 50% or less load. anything above that will cause power abnormalities like unstable voltage(speciications only allow a +/-5% tolerance of output voltage),ripple noise etc...

using non-true power/80+ efficency "BRANDED" psu will allow stable operation @ about 60-70% total load...

while true power/80+ efficiency "BRANDED" psu will allow stable operations @ 80-100% load...

remember, this still doesnt includes the protection circuits(overcurrent, overvoltage, shortcircuit, volt age spikes, sags, surges etc etc etc) only found on "branded" power supplies that generics dont have.

take note, a drop or rise of voltage, even a .1 volt, means a lot in stability, instability or disaster in a digital circuits...

thanks ani nga link bro..but naa koy mga wla masabti.
like "Cold Cathodes", "Overclock my CPU!", inig select sa RAM naay # of "Stick"..unsa mani sila. thanks

cold cathodes kanang suga2x na ibutang nimo sa cpu casing.

overclock if imung gchange ang settings sa imung processor to make it run faster or slower.

    # of sticks meaning pila kabuok imung memory or ram? 1 pc = 1 stick.

thanks sir greywolf. mura mao nani nga computation..hehehe

naa diay cpu nga 32 kbook ram...naa man gud choices 32 sticks dri. hehehe

anyway.. mura kaya ra kaau sa 500w kung dugang ko usa ka HDD, bisag duha idugang.
kay pagka karon ang total consumption kay 317w..kung tuloon ka HDD 330w, kung 4 = 342w.

    thank you guys.

@Dee_Dee naa jud na mga ingun-ana bro basin kanang mga tao na mo palit or modified ba na mga servers kay i dont think naay baligya ana for the consumer market jud.
