    this thread is supposed to be about getting corrections regarding my Visaya. I'm not sure if that is what you asked me but that my best guess. I'm not sure what 'nahan' & 'makat-on' mean.... Can you correct my journal entry above, please?

    .. fife, since your purpose of creating this thread is to learn our lovely dialect of bisaya, you don't need a thread for it. Just go to the many existing threads here in istorya and talk in bisaya. As you can see, people here are talking both in english and bisaya. but let me just edit your title and your entry, if you don't mind.

    .. simple Bisaya greetings:

    .. maayong gabie = good evening

    .. maayong buntag = good morning

    .. maayong hapon = good afternoon

    .. maayong utdo = good noon

    .. kumusta ka = how are you ??

    .. as to your question of what NAHAN and MAKAT.ON means ..

    .. NAHAN is short for GANAHAN = it means, WOULD YOU LIKE or a shorter meaning is LIKE ...

    .. MAKAT.ON = TO LEARN ..

    .. oh, and if you want to have a headache... read this thread.. nyehehehehe https://www.istorya.net/forums/genera...ayonon-mo.html

    @TS:

    this forum might not be a good place to learn our dialect.
    some scenes and contents may not be appropriate for young audiences.
    parental guidance is advised.

    I don't mind, you can edit my title. But my purpose here is to post a sentence or two everyday and hopefully someone will correct it. That's all.

    So, can someone correct my journal entry here please:

    here TS:

    Magstigod ako pagtuon og Cebuano usab. --> Magsugod (a)ko pagtuon og Cebuano usab.

    Karon panahon mibuhat ko kana tuong. --> not understandable at all

    Nagbalik ako. --> okay

    Sounds too formal though. I suggest that you write/say this way instead:

    Mobalik na ko'g tuon og Cebuano. Panahon na para magkat-on na gyud ko.
