@ puffy: the best advise i cud give you is learn the fundamentals, the ins and outs of XHTML and CSS. And learn PHP from ground up not just jump directly into learning Joomla and Drupal..once you get the grasp of PHP thats the time you jump into CMS types....my point? sooner or later you will grow big, client will demand more from you and perhaps built customized apps for them...if you were only into DRUPAL and Joomla then thats a big prob....
..seriously this is what i have seen lately, most beginners would just go for CMS, its easier, faster and lots of pre-built themes and can earn you load of bucks right away... but... it wont land you anywhere
trust me, i have seen and interviewed a lot of peeps around only to learn that they are just good with CMS, let alone would just copy/edit themes from the internet and claim it as their own.
