As samokan wrote, do it and continue your freelance projects, if the contract allow that.
If you are employed, you have a "save" salary, every month, not high maybe, but you can count on it.
If you are a freelancer, you may have a much higher income, but you can also have losses.
Both sides have positive and negative aspects.
I for myself was never employed. I am freelancer since I am done with the school, what was 25 years ago, and live quiet good with freelance programming.
