^^ the term is " audio jack sensing "

    Jack Sensing

Sound cards (and motherboards that can output in surround-sound audio) also feature a number of analogue Walkman-style (3.5mm) jacks at the rear of the card. These jacks generally comprise of headphone, line-out, line-in and microphone connectors. Many of these jacks can do double-duty by allowing the computer to adjust what they're used for (better known as jack sensing). Jack sensing, allows the sound card to automatically detect what's plugged into each port and assign the audio accordingly. For example, if you wanted to connect a set of headphones, a line-in and a microphone to these connectors, the computer would automatically detect what's there and assign each jack a function automatically. If they are to be used in a surround-sound configuration, the microphone port might be reassigned to handle rear-speaker output.

i need your help.... or any recommended 7.1 speaker and sub bahala lapas 10k...
For that budget mejo lisod ang nindot nga 5.1 let alone 7.1, also take note kung mag MP3 gihapon ka as magka highed imong system mas magka "bahsag" na ang audio.. with a highend system FLAC na jud ang maayo or a 320kbps ripped and encoded mp3 atleast.

Moot pa kaayo ang 7.1 karon, gamay ra kaayo ang true 7.1 content, upmixed rana from 5.1 to 7.1

If your budget fits I recommend you get the Onkyo HTS6200 7.1 system, dli kaayo ko mo recommend anag inspure 7.1, sound quality is rock bottom.

I saw 2.1 from Altec w/c is better than 5.1 or 7.1 you think but I forgot the model it has a huge 2 satellite speakers and huge sub-woofer all in silver color and has a label concert. I think naa pani sa mga mall. Or get order based.
You can get the very same sound quality with onboard soundcard as compared to the most expensive sound card if you use digital connection, with digital nothing is altered dli na mo agi sa DAC or any EQ thats on the chip, bit streamed na directly to the speaker system provided the speakers can decode digital.

But the problem with using digital is that you need DD-Live encoder to get 5.1 in games and other none pre-encoded content.

15k budget for the speaker alone rani?
then another 18k for the sound card ka2ng Fatal1ty?
I think its the FX5021, my sister has that speaker system, no need to spend 18k for a sound card. If you wish to spend on a sound card I would recommend you look at the X-Fi titanium it has DD-Live encoding for digital.

Some marketing by THX studios, it doesnt really affect the quality, mas daghan ang nindot nga speakers walay THX certification. Think of it as a marketing gimik.

If mo palit ka sa manila its 16,000 then 1,500 ~ 1,800 shipped to cebu thats 17,800 already. If magpa warranty ka you need to ship it back to them.

I bought my Z-5500 here in cebu, its a little bit more expensive compared to manila but alteast i get more than 1yr warranty and I dont need to ship it anywhere but back to my supplier w/c is in cebu ra pud.

Kung imo tan.awon sa tpc kay daghan napud nigamit ana
Lisod na pangitaon sa cebu, basin pwede maka order.
Pero naa ko nakit.an nga tipidpc nga z5500 pwede nimo i check.

    Wla paman 7.1 ang logitech
Ang creative naa, kanang S750 mao na ang THX certified.
Ambot lang pud asa na paliton.
    16,000 + 1,500~1,800 shipping.
Logitech has pulled out on the highend speaker system because other manufacturers that focus on audio systems can provide a better one for a fraction of the cost.

They use Air21 and other local logistics services, so yeah door to door.

It will have a THX logo somewhere, on the Z-5500 its on the control pod.

For analog connections you need a decent sound card , for digital our free onboard vs the $200 will not make a difference. Unless you count DD-Live encoding for games.

For analog connection thats true since atong music sa computers/players in digital format naman gud, that means it needs to be converted into analog signals and thats where a highend DAC ( digital to analog converter ) comes in on a decent sound card.

Built in sound card is actually ok upto a certain degree, if your builtin has S/PDIF or optical out then you can use that together with the Z-5500 since the Z-5500 can accept 2 digital connections and 1 analog, for gaming you can switch to analog mode to get 5.1 and for movies with DD/DTS you can switch to digital, since it is digital nothing is lost or compressed when sending it to the speaker system.

    ------

Im a Z-5500 owner and I'll give my short feedback here, I've been scouting this system since 4 years ago when it was first announced, had lots of issue with the first release of this product and over the years those issues were correct. When I went for a vacation in Singapore last 2008 I audition this system in SLS since they had 1 on display, was very impressed with the sound quality of the unit for its price, I placed this system on my wish list ( along with tons of other things ) last year I purchased this unit and all I can say is "Wow!!" its worth every penny I spent and I thought to my self why did I purchase this unit just now and not a few years earlier. This system is really amazing, but not all systems are perfect, the bass might be a bit boomy to some, for me it was a tad boomy and a little adjustment on my sound card resolved the issue, as for the sound card Im using a Creative X-Fi in analog connection since I will be using the S/PDIF and optical when I decide to get a PS3/360 so i dont need to swap the cables around.
