Phenom FX 5000 oc and test log

So I did unlocked my Athlon X2 5000 to a full pledged phenom II.





Prematurely, I hit my fsb wall at 280. I didn't expect it to be that soon. Was really expecting to at least hit 300 on my MSI 785GT-E63.

Here's my final attained oc.



Four cores working stable on a 5 hour Prime95 run.



Quick review on how to unlock.

1. You need an Athlon X2 5000 ( no "+" ) running at stock 2.2ghz.
2. A board with acc feature. At least has the sb710 chipset on the southbridge. Though there are some 780g based board like the Emaxx 780G-ACC which has acc.
3. Guts. In my case, I didn't have any alternative route. If I wasn't able to unlock it in the first place, I'm stuck with an old tech, slow, athlon x2. The l2 cache is even nowhere near decent (1mb ).

Look for these batch codes if you're planning to get one:

Unlocking process is a hit or a miss. No 100% assurance at all.

do you think it can still go higher with a different board? btw, what batch # did you have and where did you get that procie?

Definitely. Someone from tpc was able to push it at 3.6ghz using 340 fsb. He's using a biostar 790fx/gx. I bought it at Gaisano Interpace for 2.7k. Batch codes are listed above . I wish I got the DFI Lanparty instead, something came up and I have to take a cheap alternative route for the mobo.

2.7k for 3.6 ghz Phenom II X4 performance..that's unbeatable value! sure gave my Phenom II X4 955BE + DFI 790 FX combo ran for it's money.

I'm digging the cheaper route and it really makes sense for everyday user in general and real world application. Expensive is not always the best and I'm learning it the hard way

Hehe, that's why I don't have the right to complain if I couldn't push it further. This little guy has given me so much already,..hehe. Not to mention the huge savings I got. This procie is just 1/3 the price of a phenom II.

naa sa PCX....4900 ang 785gm-e65 nga mobo...aheheh.... sak2 jud au ni... kay ACC nani nga mobo

Thanks hehe. Kadto bag-o nga x2 5000 ( wala "+" ) bai, 45nm running at 2.2ghz. Kadto daan, brisbane to, 65nm pa man to tapos 2.6ghz yata stock speed. Tag 2.7k ako palit, GI diri sa CDO ambot lang diha cebu hehe. Ngita pa lagi ko pamaagi para ma tweak pa jud. 280fsb ra ko taman. La ko nasatisfy sa ako overclock hehe. Kadto ta e65 ako kuhaon sa board, kaso ddr2 pa man gud ako ram.
