I did got a message from my co-employee that Microsoft had an invitation last Saturday (on internet cafe), freaken forgot about it.

Did anybody? by chance got the same invitation too. Or did anybody from here got a chance to go to that occasion.

It's the microsoft i-cafe program. a new scheme to ensure i-cafe are operating w/ legal software. it means that u'll buy orig pro version + pay the rental rights agreement. though there are discounted price for win7pro and ofc07pro, still i-cafes has to invest anew. Those who uses xphome edition are no longer honored unless w/ existing rental rights agreement active or inactive.

a lot of reactions though but still what they want should to be followed otherwise u will end up in nbi ofc.

And the old windows xp home license are void, if I am not mistaken. Wow, another investment... Hope the internet cafe community can still keep up.

And if the internet cafe's will comply, will microsoft have the teeth to close unlicensed cafe... the last time the internet cafe invested on the windows home xp license, some cafe ended up closing first than the pirated competitors.

With P8 to P10 prices, is it still feasible?

yes, they WONT allow na licensed XP home to be used in internet cafes.


they agreed before na pwede ang XP home basta original/legit but now, they change napod their mine to let their windows7(which had bluescreen in the presentation last feb. 13) being sold.


there is a tremendous number of piso-piso computer rentals in very narrow and hidden areas(most are inside houses) in the city and provinces which have NO business permits and PIRATED XP installed.

we are given until may26,2010 to comply/subscribe the i-cafe program. we'll aside from the cost in purchasing the OSwin7&Ofc07, there are costs also in re-installations especially to those operators that hire technicians to do it...

What's the future of legit i-cafe now that there are still a lot of piso-piso/singko-singko and cafes w/ pirated softwares everywhere operating in 10 or 5/hr rental pay? hayyysss!!!
