LCD Monitor calibration

That was before with low resolution analog monitors (vga, svga) where you have to determine the black and white points and color gammas of the monitor. Now, with high definition analogs and lcd flat screen monitors, solo software monitor profiler takes a backseat from software-hardware duo calibrations like the popular Spyder. And for this reason in higher PS (CS3, CS4) the monitor color calibrator is no longer included in the File and Edit Preferences menu.

Thanks for the info. But just to give another option, I've had the same problem as the thread starter for years now; ever since I went to a dual LCD set-up, the colors sucked when I had my photos printed. So nowadays, everytime I want to print, I go back to what I used to do by hooking up a CRT monitor, calibrate it using Gamma , and do pp on it. Works for me; by and large, what gets printed has the same colors on the screen. I'm not a pro, never will be, and I don't regularly have my photos printed, so doing it the "old" way saves the money for an expensive Spyder and serves my purposes.

Nah ako na lang i-restate

1) download your pic to your pc/mac
2) do post processing using ps
3) print your photo
4) compare your printed copy to your edited copy on your pc

Dara ka mag-calibrate sa imo monitor.

Wala ko kahibaw pila jud ng spyder but try to contact markyap or photoshoppe lang for details sa price.

compare your photo with print.

you can do a research on LCD panels in google. cheap LCD monitors (14" to 30" under 40k) are crap (TN Panel) but these are really good in gaming and playing videos. Very fast response time. Do not depend on brand since all of them have the same quality of LCD panels. So its a "tag-an2x" style. even when calibrated.

best way, compare it to print or get a IPS panel monitor (NEC, Apple, Eizo etc..).

Bai murag under na ni sya sa color management I suggest you read more about it.

Calibrating your monitor using Spyder or any color calibrating device is "Calibration"

"Profiling" is setting similar color profile(e.g. Adobe RGB, ProPhoto, sRGB) on your devices(printers, scanners etc)

some people rent out their spyders... ask around or try mark yap at gizmo

the last one I've had printed 5R and 8R size at mitsubishi in SM
if ever you have these printed be sure to specify no adjustments
