Canon 50D Phased out - Is it still worth buying?

i just bought my 50d body sa gizmo for 58k. ok kaau. wa ko gamahay. bsag newbie ko, okay ghpon bahala nag d pa ko kabalo sa pasikot2 ani nga cam. )

It really is worth it. Before I bought the cam I read a lot of reviews and when I say a lot of reviews I really mean A LOT OF REVIEWS. And I really thought about it to the extent that I have to go to sleep two hours before my first class. 50D has been out for quite some time now (almost two years na cguro) and the fact nga canon is still selling it means nga nindot jud siyag feedback gkan sa consumers.

kung sakto jud ka budget bro then get the latest dslr but if budget nimu sakto rapud then ok man 50d sa lens nalang ka invest. for a begginer then used the entry level cam if wala pa pud budget. in the end budget japon daugon bro. hehehe...

Even the 40D was kept alongside the 50D for a while before finally being phased out.

yesterday naka palit ko 50d with 28-135mm kit lens $1,300

I believe the 40D is phased out not the Canon 50D. Who's your source on this (points at topic starter)?

I highly doubt it's phased out dude The guys at gizmo are wrong then. I saw the latest Canon SRP Price List and the Canon 50D is still there

The EOS 50D isn't phased out. But majority of camera stores doesn't order the 50D anymore. So when you intend to buy a 50D they offer you a 7D instead. You can still get it from CMPI, but at a more expensive price which is almost equivalent to a 7D in HK.
