i strongly DISAGREE.
you can go to my kennel and ALL my pugs have no foul smell. depende na sa pag-atiman. ALL dogs will emit foul smell if dili i-maintain hygiene.
pls do not isolate PUGS as "basta pug man gud naa jud na xay baho..." thats unfair and a sweeping statement for our breed.

sadly, gamay possibility nga maka survive imu dog anang distemper. there are dogs nga naka survive but carrier na sila and it'll take a lot of patience and care from the master for distemper survivor dogs.
btw, have you investigated or traced where did he/she get the distemper virus? i know it is airborne but there's possibility that your dog got it from the vet clinics, ironic right?
i know a particular clinic that admitted distemper cases inspite of the fact that theirs is an aircondioned clinic, without regard to the other dogs in-house in their clinic.... murag nasayangan man gud sa income tsk tsk...

hi fellow pugger...
how often do you bathe your pug? ideally, you should bathe him/her at least once a week.
what shampoo/soap do you use? try to look for those shampoo that though mild, but has nice scent.. i once used bearing mild shampoo... try it.![]()
see to it that after each meal, you wipe his/her face off food residues... esp. in between folds, that part in between his nose & nose folds, and under his chin up to the neck... these parts are known to accumulate excess food residue that if not cleaned will rot and in time will emit foul smell... wipe it clean and you'll see, your puggie will smell better and he will love you for it.
comb his coat once in a while... some pugs shed a lot, some not... for those who are not, dead hairs stay in their undercoats and may also be the source of your puggy's foul smell.
set a regular sched to brush his teeth... it will greatly reduce tartar and will help to give your puggie fresh breath... it will also help in your dog's appetite as he can taste his food better without those tartar!
there are a lot of things to do to improve your puggy's hygiene bro... if you can, you pay us a visit at our own thread - https://www.istorya.net/forums/pet-di...f-cebu-19.html... i together with the rest of the guys will be glad to guide you attain a better relationship with your pug.
just a reiteration, PUGS are NOT STINKING breed... thats the most irresponsible statement ive read here so far.
thanks

What's that smell?
You will often notice stinky smells from both ends of your Pug, and this is normal for the most part. But occasionally, he will omit a stench so offensive, even he will be embarrassed by its presence. This smell has come to be known in our house as the dreadful "Fishy Butthole," because it is what it sounds like. Apparently this disgustingly foul odor is caused by the Pug's anal gland in need of "expressing." As you can imagine, there is probably some nasty juicy liquid involved in this process and should be performed by a Groomer who is getting paid to do your dirty work. Be assured that there is nothing physically wrong with your Pug, but this issue will continue to haunt you if not dealt with regularly. Yes, regularly. This isn't a one-time fix. Pugs need their anal glands expressed as often as they need to be groomed.
