I think the purpose of this to improve accessibility to mactan which has Cebus intl airport and export processing zones.

If im not mistaken, there are plans to extend the zone to cordova. The problem is the congestion along the first bridge and the long travel time from especially from the south of Cebu City to mactan.

If wer talking about a bridge... your talking about improving the flow of traffic .

dili ang bridge hinungdan sa traffic, kanang mga approaches sa duha ka bridge ang angay nila himuan ug solution. nganu gud matraffic nang bridge mayg naay jeepney stop diha.

kay kong ddto gihapon sa 2nd bridge nga side wa gihapon pulos kay kasagaran bound to south or cebu city man kasagaran route sa sakyanan then inig gawas nimo sa mandaue traffic gihapon..... mas ma ayo pa padak-an nalang nah mga karsada diha dapit sa high-land mandaue going to north reclamation...

It's like this man gud! The government already have a plan to extend or make new route from the 2nd mactan-mandaue bridge to the soon to be opened route that would traverse from Talisay- Cebu City- Consolacion-Liloan... This is according to Cebu's Midium Term Development Plan. SRP is just a part of the whole project (srp is famous because a lot of issues sorround the loan that the city government incurred from Japan unlike the routes from Liloan to Mandaue that is funded by PGMA funds) that aims to decongest the roads of Cebu City, Mandaue, and Consolacion. Private vehicles and the soon to be (LRT/BRT) who wishes to go from the North to the South would no longer pass the aforementioned busy areas thus decongesting the heavy traffic situation.

the bottom line is dili na kinahanglan ang new bridge to spur the development. and their is no longer any budget alloted for the construction of a new bridge and if we will base the whole story to Cebu's MTDP; wala nay labot ang mactan island kay duagy nahuman ang project didto.niadtong pagkatokog sa lapu2x elliptical road og construction sa 2nd mactan bridge.

new projects and development will be concentrated on the efforts of expanding the mactan airport and rehabilitation of government facilities....
