The firmware update part could be a problem, not everyone who could buy a PS3 has an internet connection ( Hard to believe but true ) One way could sony could include the latest firm ware on the blu-ray disk.
Mo kuha kog PS3 but dli nako sugaton ang unit 2 problems will arise, 1 hardware errors/glitches/factory defects 2. wait pako sa mga pirates =P

I doubt nga dli na ma crack ang PS3, in electronics reverse engineerin is always possible regardless of the protection.. =)

Yup the firmware can be included in the game disk, like in the PSP, well the xbox360 has been in the market for several months, and no crack in site, a few hoaxes though... but they have to crack blu-ray first..

    From engadget:

Somehow, we suspect Sony's brass are not very happy right now. Instead of spending their time at E3 fielding softball questions about the Playstation 3's graphics, they're playing defense, as they continue to face queries about the new console's pricing and the missing features on the lower-priced version. In an interview with CNN, Sony's Kaz Hirai said the pricing -- $499 for the 20GB PS3 and $599 for the 60GB version -- was justified by the inclusion of technologies like the Cell processor and Blu-ray, and added that the "totality" of the product is a "good value for consumers." Hirai also defended the lack of HDMI on the 20GB PS3, commenting that "there's not a discernible difference between what you get between HDMI and other forms of high definition." While that might be the case with current Blu-ray flicks, all movie studios (including Sony Pictures) have reserved the right to implement the Image Constraint Token in future discs, which could force anyone using analog outputs -- including owners of the 20GB PS3 -- to watch downgraded video. We assume Hirai's familiar with the issue, so we have to wonder whether his claim that the PS3 is "future-proofed" is just a little bit disingenuous. All it would take is one Blu-ray disc with ICT for owners of 20GB PS3s to realize they've been locked out of the future.

Of course you do, and everyone else.. an average list price for the game would be 65USD (75$ estimate for some because it's Blu-RAY!!) which means 65$ x 7=455 USD.. plus the console and of course ud have to buy the 599.. that's 1,000+ USD.. and unless u live in the USA, u'd get it here with a price thats actually more expensive.. = more than 100,000 pesos I wager for games and console..

and that's only for some toy the big boys would enjoy for themselves (the must have games happen to be best played in singleplayer).. and I don't know what to say, not a very wise investment at a time when oil is expensive and every money should be money well spent .. hehehehe..

If you already own a HDTV then your blessed, if not then you need to cough up $3,000++ for an HDTV. If your planning to buy one, go for 40' & above that supports higher resolutions & has connections of HDMI, DVI, Component HD etc.

you really need to have an HDTV and HDMI connection to take advantage of the next gen consoles, cheapest HDTV locally is around 70K hoorrahhhhh and that's less than 32"
