If they bring the Joker back as the villain, I wouldn't want Johnny Depp to be playing him to be honest. Nor should he be playing the Riddler as others are speculating. Now don't get me wrong, I like Johnny as an actor and has proven to play peculiar roles pretty well. But for him playing Joker/Riddler would be far too obvious I reckon. Same thing goes to Philip Seymour Hoffman as Penguin, or Angelina as Catwoman. Just too obvious and just playing it safe. You can pretty much paint a picture on your head already on what they would look and sound like.

What I would like to see is for the villains to be played by actors you would least expect them to play. To give us that element of surprise. Remember when Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker? Everyone said it was ridiculous and it's a miscast. But look how that tuned out. Sure it's sad that he's no longer with us, but his portrayal surprised us all. It was menacing and brutal... something we never expected from him after doing that gay cowboy film.
