iba talaga ang sariling atin...very true!
because the archetypal symbolisms in rituals have a deeper meaning to the practitioner
and a lot of other reasons...
although I believe any wizardry...may vary in applications or technique
but has the same underlying principles

but im surprised of your being "out" coz a lot of Filipino Wizards (especially the elders)
wouldn't want to expose their craft to the general public...
usually when one attempts to do that, something happens...
that's part of the mysticism of Filipino wizardry

Filipino Sorcery is indeed very strong...they have it in the form of Lihim na Karunungan in Luzon which is a form of Filipino Kabbalah utilizing latin chants, prayers and catholic symbology and the Babaylan practice in Iloilo. The difference with Filipino Sorcery and the Western Practices that we are following kasi, Filipino Sorcery/Wizardry is more of a practice rather a religion. We are following Wicca (A Western Tradition) because we observe the religion, not just the magick.

You are lucky since you have a mentor, a relative who practices with you. The problem in my part is our family transmits the oral tradition of Babaylanismo and sad to say it was broken, with no initiated member in the family left.

Some of us seek to follow Wicca, since we do not really have a counterpart of that religion. That is why we are doing our best to incorporate this Western Mystery religion into our cultural practices and beliefs. However, since our country again is predominantly catholic, the religion is just to hard to fit in the Patriarchy of the church.

open your mind to the possibility of the evolution of spirituality and mysticism. After all, majority of the mystery religions and occult practices started somewhere and it incorporated a lot of beliefs and practices along the way until it evolved into a unique form that we can call our own. Wicca might be a Western Religion now but who knows in a few years, we may have our own Filipino version of the religion... my thoughts!
