I think the core of wizardry, faith healing and other related things is belief. Exercises most the subjective mind to dominate the objective one. It a practice of the hypnotic phenomena to accomplish something deemed as impossible.

As the cliche goes: "In the realm of the mind, what you believe is true is either true, or will become true.". Mind you, this is applicable to subjective beliefs only.
