Certainly there is a difference! Personality deals with the image that you project, how other people perceive you and how you deal with other people.
Character refers to the morals that a person has, their penchant to do the right thing.
Someone can have an excellent character and always be depended on to do good things, but have the personality of a wet rag. And the nicest, most outgoing person in the world can back stab their friends on a regular basis.

Personality is the innate feature of a person which makes him/her unique and subjective, whereas character is universal and objective and can be improved, developped, changed and adapted within the society interacted.Character is shaped by the individual experiences.

A 10 year old can possess Character, have personality, and display class. Why you can not do the same is just beyond me.

I get to work with the Philippine Agriculture Department, officials, professors, and engineers to develop an Agriculture Study and test group on Dinagat Island. We are institutionalizing an Island wide organics farming conversion project which utilizes US farming practices and Square Meter gardening concepts and practices. I am helping hundreds of farmers increase farm production and decrease dependency on commercial fertilizers, insecticides, and herbicides which are poisoning families, soil, waterways, mangrove, coral, and fish breeding grounds. If the program is a resounding success it will spread throughout the Philippines. I also help support family members and two orphanages. So my volunteer work helps to positively enrich the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people. If my work spreads then before I die I could have a positive impact on millions of Filipinos lives. Why am I married to a Filipino? I met my wife in 1985 while I was still a young Sergeant serving in 3rd Recon on Okinawa Japan. I had be married to a white girl but we divorced after 5-1/2 years of marriage. we dated over the next two years where I came to the Philippines several times to met her family. She was born in Trinidad, Bohol and is the Grand Niece of Carlos P. Garcia, her Grandmother was his sister. I filed to brought her to the US and we were married in late 1987. We bought farm land on Dinagat Island, 10 years ago and I fell in love with the Surigao and the Mindanao area and it's people. Two years ago I decided to retire at the age of 50. Why because I made enough money being self employed that I could!!! Few men can retire at 50 and spend the rest of their days exploring, traveling, and doing what they really enjoy, spending quality time with my family. Sorry I did not consult you first.

We had a 13 year old son who is Carlos P. Garcia's Great Grand Nephew. If you do not know he was one of the only good presidents the Philippines ever has, and is the reason for the Star on the Bohol flag. We moved here so he could learn what the Pinoy culture since he was a duel citizen. Plus we could enjoy the last 4 years with him before he leaves to go to college. He presently attends Caraga Regional Science High School which one of the finest High schools in the Philippines. And so we could easily travel with him to Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Hong Kong, Korea, and Japan.

Yes I would be interested on you theory why an American should not fall in love and choose to marry a beautiful well educated lady from a powerful Filipino political family. After 22 years I can not retire and decide move to the Philippines to do something I really enjoys.
