Merry X-mas lagi sa uban
hmm... hope its gonna be the end of the world soon so I can happily say to a lot of "I told you so.."
No we do not celebrate X-mas because the bible instructs us not to celebrate x-mas. Yes if you are a X-mas hound then we would be boring to you for that week. There is no tree, lights, or presents. Friends come over because they like us and they do not have to buy gifts they can not afford to try to buy my petty affections. They are not judged because their gift were not big enough, fancy enough, expensive enough, or the gift was forgotten.
The trick is do interesting and fun things all year long, spend as much time together as possible. Four holidays are not missed.
In the book "Alice in Wonderland" Alice attends a party which she was told was a special day. It was an un-Birthday. "Why is it special?" she ask. the Mad Hatter replied, "Why a birthday is celebrated only once a year, un-Birthdays are celebrated 364 days a year." The Mad Hatter was correct everyday is a celebration to be enjoyed. Celebrate it for the right reasons.
letting the Bible dictate your life must be alienating. the Bible tells you to kill your neighbor if he one day decides to worship other Gods. why don't you do it?
the only things i look forward in xmas are family and friends get together, NFL, beer, and food. not so much for gifts if that's how you define xmas.
