Cebuano anime

I don't think it'll sell right now. I've always heard this stereotype na tihik daw taga Cebu. xD
Aaanndd.. this genre of entertainment still needs a bit more sharing to the public and hyping..

But! Who knows? Give it a few more years, probably..

Who has the money and human resources to produce all-original anime here in Cebu?>> Someone who's dedicated, that's who. xD

Pero bitaw, if ang point lang jud is to earn money, then ambot.. Di jud ka earn dayun2.
According to my dad pa, dedication sa.. money will follow daw.

Sooo.. like what others have said, pwede cguro lingaw2 lang sa. And who knows?

If I were an anime producer who came to Cebu to start a new anime production from scratch, I don't think there are enough locals with experience on working on animation to hire.

I have no idea if there are animators here in Cebu, but i saw this sign in Mango square once na animation school churva daw to xa na room/office (karun kay somewhat church na/tambayan for youth members sa isa ka church). Soo.. i dunno. Maybe naa. But yeah, maybe not enough. But i do wonder..

Because I did my research and my sources are credible. I also met with capitalists who looked to Cebu for possible investments and "unusual" projects - in the case of anime, selling anime through pay-per-view in Cebu, producing all-original anime using local workers and talents, etc.

Sadly, the local economic and social conditions at present make Cebu an undesirable place for producing and selling anime.

Some companies OR broadcasting stations can PROMOTE anime. They do promote upcoming movies, why not Anime?

But yeah, it would really be hard for capitalists to invest into something like this. Hence, i suggest na maybe mag start lang as lingaw2 ang project or something..

A commercially successful cebuano anime is still a far-fetched dream.

Instead of making a cebuano anime, why not start in the same way that most successful anime titles start: manga/comic books and light novels. If the manga/comic book or light novel proves to be a success, then maybe we could proceed in making an animated version of it.

Talking about local animations, I could only recall two original Filipino animations, "Fly Aswang" and another one which I forgot the title, but I recall the story was about "datus". I haven't seen any of these two Filipino animations because, to be honest, I was not interested. I have seen the previews and I was impressed, but the focus on aswangs and datus was a turn off for me.

I mean, does it have to immediately be a story about aswangs and datus for it to be called original Filipino animation? If they want it to be successful, they should at least consider the interest of their market (in other words: 'get the attention'). Why not start on a story about Filipino highschool life, which an average Filipino teenager could immediately relate to. Then after that, gradually introduce deep Filipino culture on the next titles.

And while they're at it, they could also incorporate common types of anime characters with characters from Filipino history/culture.

I personally haven't seen those two local animated movies, too (although i was planning to, just to show support)

I have to agree, the movies weren't that appealing to me because of the main plot and story. In fact, i wouldn't mind if it was a love story na lang. IDK why, but tikbalangs, aswangs and diwatas are kinda.. err.. common story na au for the locals. Prolly if they added a twist or something (Samurai Champloo).

I had an idea sauna (because of anthropomorphism trend) na mag doodle unta ko ug personification ni PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, yes. that.. e___e). Like.. pag-asa is this girl na worry wart au and mag cge ug sorry. She tries her best, pero medyo clumsy xa (a bit of a klutz, too). Although at times, she excels. She keeps on worrying recently because of the lack of machines and things na she needs for checking the weather. She keeps informing The Boss about the lack of funds and gadgets, but The Boss ignores her. (Hang in there, PAGASA-chan)

hmm... PAGASA-chan, that sounds like a really good idea that can be used for a webcomic, but it also sounds like you've had too much Hetalia. XD
