Thumb-sucking Toddlers

hi, anyone can advice me how to stop a toddler from thumb sucking? 4 months old pa lng cya mag thumb suck na akong eldest son nya hangtud karon he is now 4 years old na, mag thumb suck japon..gi buhat na nako tanan guro, gi tarong ug hangyo, gi explainan, gi threaten na nko na putlon ang thumb if dli mo stop, butangan na ug scotch tape ang thumb para dli mag thumb suck, maluoy ko kay mo hilak if dli ka thumb suck...haaayyy! nag kubal na mn gud ang thumb niya nya bacn ma busngi nya sya sooner or mo bukad na unya iyang simod if dli jud ni cya mo stop..

sa ako na dungan normal ra ang mag thumb suck until two years old maximum pero lapas ana kay maka damage na jud na sa iya teeth ug gums....

ingon sa mga tiguwang butangan daw ug sili ang kamot pero luoy man pud ang bata....butangi nalangug something pait

@ haidee_08:sos! nkasuway na jud ko ana sis..pero dli sili ako gi butang kung do white flower..ni angal ra una, taud taud ni sukol japon sa white flower..isog au bataa, ka take mn sa ka halang sa white flower lagi..lagi oi..na worry na jud ko..gi consult na nko ug pedia ni ana ra mn nga sultian lng, dli mn japon mo patuo..nya dli pa jud mabuhi kung walay lampin nga lukuton inig tulog dungan sa iyang thumb suck...

ako cuzin kay murag 9yrs old na xa ni stop.. butangan daw nila ug sili ang kamot bsta mka tulog. para ig tugpa sa baba, matagam. bahala na daw muhilak, maundang lang. luoy bya. hehehe.

hope those help. actually...thumbsucking according to my pedia is NORMAL even at 4 or 5. to TRY to stop is going to do damage EMOTIONALLY and PSYCHOLOGICALLY. those problems sound worse than a problem with the teeth.

kung gamit ug sili or other stuff....di kaya ANOTHER thumb or finger ang i-suck instead? especially if you are NOT looking?

my two cents. my son never thumb-sucked anyways hehe. he is well-adjusted and very very bright and confident...thank God! lol

you're welcome. let him be lang for now....he might get too stressed. i know someone who thumbsucked till she was 6. SHE IS FINE. ang kubal nawala ra...ang ngipin nya maganda....she is now 35. hahahahahaha.

my daughter also likes to thumb suck...she is only 1.5years old pa lang noon...
pero we try na to stop para makasulti na xa...butangan na nmo sili iya thumb, pero if mahupas na ang halang kay balik nasad ug thumb suck....

ako sauna katong bata pako. lampin lukoton nya yab.an gamay og milo ang ibabaw sa lampin nya simhot simhoton. nya mo kaon og sapatos. hehe pero na stop naman pod katong naa nakoy crush2x.. pag edad nako 5
