I may be bluffing... go back with your own LOUSY LANGUAGE powerbuilder, and it's not a true programming language, it's like VB, kinda lousy programming language.
lousy thinking, lousy world... lousy lousy programming language.

This useless argument won’t stop not unless one of you will accept that in some way or another you were wrong. Ga iyahay mo ug pasikat ^^

@kamsky, you already told us that you haven’t use PB ever since, if you presenting PB as one of the RAD tool same as what uchihacirxe expresses, I advise you to see and work on it first.

I can consider it as RAD tool but in some occasional cases only. Don’t just say that PB can build socket server and listen ports. Coz I can make that in 10 lines of codes more or less… don’t just say that PB is able to call native API’s, or communicate devices coz that makes sounds stupid! It can only do that because tthey wrap all the existing functionality into a self-styled POWERSCRIPT! If new devices come, new technology arises, you cannot just directly communicate, but instead you will develop a C/C++ code and import it to PowerScript.

The new PowerBuilder which is currently in BETA state, will run on Visual Studio (isolated mode) same as what I have now in python. Instead of using some existing python IDE, I can use the Visual Studio.

I read on the FAQ that they will wrap the .NET codes into PowerScript style, especially on the WCF and WPF. Which is a pretty bad idea, I feel that, it is nearly impossible to do that. If somebody wants to learn on .NET framework, I don’t think they will go for PowerScript. VS2008 is already an ultimate RAD tool, documentation, debugging, templates, snippets, the device emulator, deployment manager, database integration and lots of giant third party integration such as Intel, IBM etc… and lots lots lots of goodies and stuff that PB does not have and never to have… FYI Sybase updates the PB for every 1.5 years or more… that‘s a huge drawback for a so-called RADTOOL!

Whatever you do, powerbuilder is still not a real core programming language. hahahaha

    I agree! it's a RADTOOL.

-- It's not because I havent written PB code I dont have idea about it. I said I worked with PB modules closely before way back PB5. I played around RAD tools too. They are real programming. You will be addressed as Powerbuilder programmer, VB programmer and delphi programmer and not powerscript programmer, qbasic programer or object pascal programer.

-- is it a bad idea? that's you man and who are you? You are not yet Larry Wall or Guido's level. Not yet.

-- you feel it's nearly impossible? that's you man.

And leprechaun, what's a real core programming for you? And why do you need to be a core programming.

If they address it as “PB programmers” it doesn't attest that PB is a programming language. LOL, Instead they are programmers who can work with PB.

When you wrap a certain functionalities from another language and implement that with your own scripting styles, embed that in your application or IDE (in PB's case) it doesn't mean that you already made a new programming language LOL.

    INFO from sites:

PowerBuilder also includes a scripting language, PowerScript, which is used to specify the application behavior when events occur. Events usually correspond to user actions, such as clicking on an element of the user interface, or closing a window.

This is the same with AUTOLISP in AutoCAD, which is the real programming language is LISP. AutoLISP is just a script wraps around LISP. AutoLISP - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You can even develop same functionalities in Visual Studio, You can import/export scripts, record macros, and we normally do this during deployment process. Or even in your windows desktop using this AutoIt Script Home Page
