    Default Sodom and Gomorrah

    Genesis 19 - PassageLookup - King James Version - BibleGateway.com

If God is Omniscient, whats his reason for saving Lot and his daughters.

First Lot offered his daughters to the men of his town to be raped so that the angels wouldnt be touched. "Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. -Genesis Chapter 19 Verse 8"

Second his daughters got Lot drunk and fornicated with their father.
    " Genesis Chapter 19

32Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
33And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. 34And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
    "

Now, did God made a mistake in saving them?

You don't know the story... they are:

    Moabites
    Ammonites

Where did Lot's daughters get their understanding of sexuality? Evidently they brought with them from Sodom the values of that culture rather than the morals of Abraham's family where incest would have been unthinkable. There is no need to dwell on this tragic story ending in drunkenness and incest and total degradation in Lot's masculine identity. Though Lot himself was saved, "yet as through fire," his sons grew up to dispossess the Rephaim, or Emim, a race of giants living in Jordan east of the Promised Land, (Deut. 2:10). Much subsequent human tragedy can be traced back to the children of Lot. They caused the people of Israel many troubles in their subsequent
    interrelationships.

First we have to accept that God have His own mind and will- that He can decide for Himself for whatever reasons apart from what we know of Him from the Bible. No matter how much we believe that the Bible was inspired by God we must accept that it was written by ordinary man like us incapable of truly grasping what God really is. Even if God wanted it to He can not make Himself be comprehensible to man exactly because of the nature of man. It's not that man is a sinner that is why He can't comprehend what God really is, simply because man has limited understanding.

Now, if it seems God appears inconsistent to what we 'know' (without ever experiencing) about being omnipotent as we read the Bible might be that the problem lies not on God but in the Bible itself. Even if God had written those words by His own hand still the outcome would be the same- I Bible that described a lesser God. Simply because it was intended for a being with a lesser mind than God.

So, can God make mistakes? Base on the Bible it seems He can...but I don't believe it. Maybe it's only us which is forever seeing something not consistent of God...could this be because we trust God less more than we really admit it to ourselves so that we want to be sure at all times that God is doing the right thing? But I'm inclined to accept that we are merely trying to fondly fathom God's mind and in the same way God fondly 'wrestled' with Jacob in the place called Peniel...in the end of the day we simply just leave everything to God and trust Him in due time He shall show us the whole picture.

hehe, I'm just hoping that the END of Days would come soon so that we shall see what the truth really is.

God knows we are all wicked, and sinners, he just wanted us to take a shot at righteousness... its a chance we all have... why not take it...

We don't know his reason WHY! we can ask him when we get there...

I would like to suggest reading this passage:

    1 Corinthians 10:1-11 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

There are a lot of themes and lessons we can learn from each chapter of God's word. And it has helped me a lot. As for the story of Lot, it did show me, the kind of Christian He was and the kind of Christian i should be. =) Striving to be like Christ!...And God never make mistakes. Everything happens for a reason.
