In photography, based sa akong nabasahan diri sa iSTORYA, purists are the ones who prefer not to use any editing software or the sort of with their photos...

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not against purists, it's their prerogative to be one & I totally respect that.

To all purists, please share your masterpieces.. Straight from the camera!

I presume most of you are expert in getting the right composition, white balance, light, shutter speed, aperture and whatnot. So most of us noobs can learn a lot from you guys. Especially anang composition coz I suck bigtime at that.

does purist shoot in JPEG or RAW?

jpeg ... raw ... it doesn't matter. just take the picture and thats it ... no pp. although i think adobe lightroom is like an extension of the dark room ... so it maybe possible to use it and call yourself a purist still... at least sa akong panan-aw. basta ang adjustment is like dodge, burn, crop, intensity/sat. just like when you do it manually. anything beyond that cguro will be PP. just my two cents worth ...

well how about we conduct an eb then try our best to be purist for just one day?

naalala ko lang yung time na una akong naka hawak ng slr (Olympus OM-1N MD) it was so frustrating all of my shots was underexposed or over exposed hehehehehhe...

so how about it? lets try the discipline of our old masters and be a purist for just a day... hehehehehee...

i think it is still called post processing... "purist" pipol don't like that...

from my point of view ... no pp means no PP na beyond what could've been done inside the dark room. come to think of it ... even during the film era i still used the dodge and burn, crop (post processing?)... cguro these days its just in a digital version. kung wala ko masayop some of the purists i know dislike that there are those who overprocess (wa gyud koy benchmark what is and whats not!) the pics and try still to present it as a photograph in the most raditional of understanding. but i guess dili na na sila purists ang ako mga kaila ... "lasaw" nga purists na sila. =) para sa ako ... as long as nice ang pik ... larga. as long as makapalipay ug tawo ako pic ... put a smile on their face ... thats it!
