Stay clear from HP. We have 2 units of HP Pavilions here in the house, one for me and for my sister. Both have problems ever since from the start. They were bought last year in the US. And after about 3 months of use, mobo died on my sister's laptop and on mine was a defective LCD. We brought it to HP (SM) to be repaired. At that time they were still under int'l warranty(1yr) so there was no problem on having them fixed. The motherboard and LCD were replaced. Now after months of use, same problem occurred to my sister's laptop. It just suddenly died. Took it back to the service center and they're sayin they can no longer fix it for free since warranty has expired. Mobo needs to be replaced and it cost around 20k. Thats not an option. Add another 10-15k and that's already a brand new laptop. Neway, as for mine... about a month ago, all of a sudden I lost my audio. It's displaying "No audio device installed". And from time to time, my dvd drive also disappears. I've already tried doing factory reset/formatting back to its original state and even upgraded from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate and just about all the troubleshooting I can think of and I'm still gettin the same problem. I've check their site's forum and there A LOT of HP owners having the same problems w/ their laptops. My dad's laptop w/c is a Toshiba and was also bought even before the 2 HP Pavilions is still in good shape. No problems whatsoever.. I've also read an article about SquareTrade (a company that offers extended warranty in the US) and according to their surveys, HP has the highest malfunction rate. check this link:

I do agree. We just bought 2 hp tablets, daut na dayon ang RTC battery. Friends have complain also same as the one above, mobo and lcd. Daghan kaayo sila recalls.

As far as what I owned na nidugay, na until now nagdagan pa flawlessly, Naa ko Dell inspiron na mag 4 years na. Kapila na ni nabusdak dagan gihapon. I also got a Gateway T series na mag 2years na and still on the go, no cracks bisan accidental na nahulog at times.
