it is foolish to automatically assume the existence of God JUST BECAUSE science cannot disprove his very existence. God of the gaps? hmmm... if we follow your logic closely, it would be a valid thing to say you believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster because science cannot disprove FSM exist. yet you don't believe FSM exist... HOWCOME? --- because for some sheer reason you have been brought up by your parents to believe in the Judeo-Christian God. if you've been brought up in Afghanistan, you would have been believing in Allah and not God. get my point?

non-atheists are welcome in this thread.

no matter who you are, or what your belief is, we all know one thing in common---there are more atheists than we think we know. there is a huge percentage of atheists who are "in the closet" out of fear of rejection and retaliation.

i don't have concrete statistics to reflect what i've said, but as a start, please click this link:

some statistics may actually say otherwise, that there is only a minor percentage of the (world) population who are atheists, which basically makes my statement accurate---that there are lots of "closet atheists".

there are 15 millions atheists in America alone---that outnumbers any Muslims, Jews, and Buddhists in the US when doubled. so if you're an atheist wanting to come out in the open---do not worry---you've got company.
