2-disc edition is P895 and its packaging is cool.

The second disc has most of the special features and they do give great insight on the film. In my estimate, these special features combine for a running time of less than 2 hours.

No doubt about it. Star Trek is a great DVD to buy. The movie itself is, in my opinion, the best Star Trek film to date. Its special features are not as long as those featured in the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen 2-disc DVD, but it still is great.

Come to think of it, I enjoyed Star Trek much better than the overblown and dumb Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

The reason why the producers used the alternate reality concept is to enable themselves to make brand new adventures of the young Captain Kirk and crew without being limited by the legacy of the old Star Trek franchise. At the same time, they are going to sell those new adventures to a more mainstream audience.
