IN man's eyes and standards, yes we may be morally upright. But in God's perspective, all of us are just filthy rags in front of Him. Don't say something about Him when you don't even know Him.

Impossible! when the source of all morality is the Creator...of all things...both seen and unseen...
Do you realize that there are no real atheists? An atheist is a nonbeliever. Can you think of any living, breathing, eating, drinking and sleeping being who does not believe in anything? Nobody right? Even a man on the brink of suicide believes in something (that life isn't worth living anymore). To be able to live, one must believe in something.. Our thoughts, opinions and personalities have certain yardsticks whether good or bad.
To be moral without God is like saying I am a better thief among thieves bec. I only steal according to need. If we base our actions on anything other than God, it will bear no good fruit.

A person can ware religion on their sleeve, attend or participate actively in their religions ceremonies and still be absolutely godless. Religion is just a word used by too many, and words are cheap. Me I am this or I am that, mine is better than yours, I am right and their are wrong. They actually have no idea of what their religions demand of them, rather they want to make demands on their religion. A person has to live their religion to be truly religious. Few can do that even the religious authorities of the various religions fail due the desires and weakness of man's nature.

In a way Atheist are actually more honest than most that try to act religious. Why are their so many sects of each religion? So those professing to be religious can find a sect that fits the way they wish to practice their religion. They do not really want the truth, rather a truth they can accept, or one which is easier, or has enough loopholes. They do not know what they believe in, they just claim to believe. Liars.

Most if they are truly religious would not commit crimes or break laws. They would truly be moral and righteous beings.

how sure can one be to distinguish which is which? what is what? who is who? not an easy feat especially for one who employs FAITH regarding decisions that easily.

i told you, i accept full accountability regarding my actions and decisions i made or going to make. if sh!t does happen, i dont point to somebody, or someone especially some unseen deity to pin such blame...i look, check and reflect on what i've done. mind you, i did not even specify which god specifically is THE god in that scenario...nevertheless, if this god pops out of nowhere and puts me in that predicament/spotlight, asks me to do those crazy sh!t like kill somebody just to prove LOVE and LOYALTY...i'd stand by my choice: NO, and i wont hesitate to wave my middle finger. FEAR? a tool commonly employed by godists to bring one to down to their knees, submission and to their fold...see past bullcrap. i'm more fearful of MAN and his/her darker shade to be exact.

Honestly I have not been put in that situation. I was taught to follow the Articles of War (established by the Geneva Convention) and the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Militery Justice). I have faith in the training and caliper of Marine Commanders. Marine Commanders are not God, even though some may think they were.
I was not trained to kill unarmed or innocent people. Snipers have had to kill civians and children entering kill zones, because they were given grenades to use when they get close to post. The kill zone is understood. Would I kill a child being use as a weapon by my enemy to save Marine lives, yes. But I would first try to wound, and if they continued to advance, I would take that shot. Marines are not in the business of burning babies.

You may, but before the most powerful presents on our universe, your true father, you creator; well that one I am still skeptical. I understand that in your heart in your present condition you fully believe you would react that way. I just believe that in his presents that reality may very well change, not out of weakness rather from the higher consciousness of that experience.

That was a subject that Fleet Marines have to deal with and is subject of deep contemplations, being part of the Department of Navy the Marines serve as a security barrier between the Captains of ships and his Navy subordinates against acts of mutiny. You make Navy friends while serving on-board ships; but in the back of your mind you know that if ordered to point weapons at them, that you must, and if ordered to kill? There are other ways in introducing good values to an individual other than through satiation (giving reward: heaven, everlasting life, blessings, etc.) and punishment (self-explanatory: Hell, bad luck, etc.). But it just seems that these two are accepted as the most effective. It seems that all religion that I know of incorporated these two techniques in their teachings and doctrines.

But is religion the only way to teach good values and morals to someone? Nope. It might be the most effective, but I don't see that this is the only way.
