Mga pipz...naglibog jud ko..
Unsay mas better? Core i7 920 or Core i7 860?
Check this comparison...
AnandTech Bench (beta): Intel Core i7 920 vs Intel Core i7 860
Add lng pud ko gamay advice...you really won't feel the difference except when you check the numbers in benchmarks and these are only minimal differences. And if you want a cheap but reliable processor that would work for you for the next 3-5 years i'd suggest you pick a core 2 duo proc..![]()
I'd say the 920 kung maka stretch ka sa imong budget pero kung diha ra jud ka kutob, the 860 is very well worth it. it even surpasses the 920 in some if not most of the benchmarks. don't worry about future-proofing though, the technology (LGA1156) is new so you should be good for the next 2-4 years.
also, kung ganahan jud ka maka feel ug difference when it comes to performance, get an SSD for your primary drive, naay local distro diri ug OCZ so ask lang kung naa na ba nasulod diri.
**EDIT**
come to think of it, i-consider ang graphics card kay kung mag crossfire/sli ka, better go for the 920 kay x58. ang P55 kay x8 raman gud on multiple gpu configuration. and the 860 is slightly expensive than the 920 pero dili kaayo. in my opinion, deciding factor ang graphics ani kay it seems you can afford going multiple GPU's man, di ba?![]()

i7 920
Enthusiast level
expensive motherboard bec. of northbridge
expensive setup, needs 3 sticks DDR3 for 3ple channel
powerhungry at OC
i7 860
Hi-end level
Cheaper mobos
Cheaper setup, would req. only 2 sticks of DDR3 for dual channel
supposedly lower specs than 920
if ever clocked, will kick 920's butt at stock^^ check for yourself.
better overclocker
better performance per set-up price.
the LGA1156 is doomed to be replaced, unlike the X58 platform
i7 920 is better then i7 860
X58 Setup = 1366 Socket = Last Longer, Better Overclocking, More Expensive, Faster, Better Multi GPU
P55 Setup = 1156 Socket = Won't Last Longer then X58, Less Expensive, Slower, Slower Multi GPU compared to X58
If you are starting a new setup, i suggest going straight to X58(1366 Socket) if you have the budget.
X58 Motherboards will not work with P55 Processors.
P55 Motherboards will not work with X58 Processors
