The story says that that was under the authority of God. That he commanded rival tribes Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites be killed and driven out of the lands of Isreal. What was their crime in the eyes of God?
Exodus 34:13 "But you shall destroy their alters, break their sacred pillars, and cut down their wooden images."

1,066 school children, ages 8-14, in order to test "the effect of uncritical teaching of the Bible on the propensity for forming prejudices (particularly the notion of the 'chosen people,' the superiority of the monotheistic religion, and the study of acts of genocide by biblical heroes).
So you are saying that a study done in a war zone country like Israel. The one people in the world most persecuted for their belief in God. The fact that they still choose to believe they are the chosen people, and answered according to their believes in that God. This is suppose to mean that Man is suppose to reject the word of God? And you call me deluded? You can try to put God on trial all you want. I am not so self delusional as to think I have the right to judge the will of God. Nor am I going to choose to question events 3,000 years ago. We are not what man was 3,000 years ago, and can not truly know all the facts of the people at that time. There have been many evil cultures through out our history. You think Atheist are incapable of killing, and committing evil acts? Men are men, religion is just an excuse, a man can claim to be religious and in fact be just the opposite. Religious is just a word if you do not live that life which it requires. Most men that claim to be religious are in fact liars, mostly they lie to themselves which also makes them fools.
You have the right to believe or disbelieve religions, choose to love or hate God. I happen to believe in God and Christ, and will not make the mistake of trying to question of judge their will. Me I just do what they tells me to do. So if that makes my mind deluded the so be it. Better to have my mind deluded than have my soul polluted. Bless you, and I hope someday you actually become enlightened. First you have to stop blaming religion for the evil that men do. The acts of evil men in the past in the false name of religion, are only evil acts by evil men. They chose to use religion as a blanket for their vial acts. The same can be said about Atheist, just because they choose not to believe and follow God will not exclude them from the punishments of God. God is real, Christ is real, and Satan is real. Who do you choose to follow, that is the eternal question, claiming ignorance just means you are the unknowing disillusioned follower of the latter? That is the truth, you are welcome to disagree all you wish, after all I am just deluded.
Let me get this out clearly,
If god commanded me to wipe out an entire people I'd tell him to f*ck off and do it himself.
Then I would proceed to narrate to him what a huge dick he is.
God command Joshua to wipe out a people - OK
Do some minor substitution and the entire thing flips on its head" The children's answers to the question "Do you think Joshua and the Israelites acted rightly or not?," were categorized as follows: "'A' means total approval, 'B' means partial approval or disapproval, and 'C' means total disapproval." Across a broad spectrum of Israeli social and economic classes, 66% of responses were "A," 8% "B," and 26% "C."
Your reaction is the exact same thing that was observed in the study. Where are your morals james? As a control group, Tamarin tested 168 children who were read Joshua 6:20-21 with "General Lin" substituted for Joshua and a "Chinese Kingdom 3000 years ago" substituted for Israel. General Lin got a 7% approval rating, with 18% giving partial approval or disapproval, and 75% disapproving totally.
oh and yes, you are deluded.

When we meet God face to face, and we will. We will be too busying begging him to forgive our arrogance and acts of false pride. But then it will be too late to change the actions of our life, salvation was just a small prayer and simple faith away. You probably will not be barking insults and big talking God.
Exactly, people who are poor tend to be religious and most crimes are committed where poverty is prevalent because people are desperate and poor. That is why statistic shows that countries that have mediocre economy are predominantly religious...in their daily struggle God is there only hope and reason to live on life.
Since you can not show a poor atheist country that fair better than poor christian countries like Mexico, Brazil or the Philippines, you can not conclusively claim that the high incidence of crimes and corruption are cause primarily because the population are christians.
There is no atheist in the slums...only people who had bad feeling against God because of their situation and thought they are an atheist. One become an atheist through the triumphed of human reason within him not simply by any ill feelings. Poor people don't have the luxury of contemplating the whole day whether there is God while there stomach ache and mumbles for something...
An atheist looks good only with a glass of champagne in a hand sitting and watching the sun goes down the horizon.
You can believe that if it makes you feel better. I only stated what is written and try to be as respectful to others as possible. You can project all the sins and evils of religion onto me as you wish, but they do not apply to me. Those sins are not mine to bare. It is misplaced anger. I still choose to walk with God and Christ. Your path leads to no place I wish to be.
