install more codec dude! and if your dvd is original maybe it wont play cause of block region thingy. just download DVDregionFree. all videos work just fine with my 64bit OS.

to be able to use 64bit windows you must have a decent hardware. i think all processor nowadays can handle 64bit instructions. but for the ram you must have atleast 4gig on your system. and i think 64bit can allocate more than 128gig of ram.

grabeh maximize jud ang processor og ram...ang ako kaha atom mamatay cguro ana...hahah

I have done all that. But how can you explain why it works in 32bit and not in 64bit. I'm using VLC and mkv files usually Blu ray rips.

cause you install wrong codec for your file to play. guessing the file you wish play is WMP 11 video with uncompressed 16bit audio on 64bit os wont play ur file. your main problem is that Media Player wont play back uncompressed video files containing uncompressed PCM 16bit 48khz audio. Bigger issue is that WME 64 cant read these files.

I think you're right. But what I could not figure out is why when I fresh install a 32bit OS, I can play anything without any problems, without installing any codecs, whatsoever. With a 64bit OS, magsige og freeze ang movie.

if you meet the requirements of vista everything will be smooth. regarding freezing posible you encounter a bug known to have a effect of immature hibernation of harddrive that causes your system to freeze. if you use the older version of vista possibly u encounter those things. i recommend to go get some patches.
