    18-55
    pro:
    "all around" beginner's lens
    flexible range
    IS
    closer minimum focusing distance

    con:
runing f - stop (you might have a hard time sa low light situations unless you have/use flash... unless you shoot in studio or in a very bright place.. this would not really matter)

    50mm
    pro:
    better depth of field
    low light
    fast lens
    sharp

    con:
fixed (unless you have a place to back up it's okay)
plastic build ( i heard mao daw ni ang one of the common problems, some units mo kalit ra ug fall apart)

mo depende pud na unsa imo i.shoot.. for me I'm focusing on portraits and events.. I used my 50mm most of the time pero when there's an event definitely it's the kit lens (i have a flash btw)

this is a great comparison sir you have.... now i'm torn between these lenses... but based from wat you've written sir, the 50mm really produces far better than the kitlens huh... i guess i'll buy both, kinahanglan na jud ko magtigum ani..

    thanx sir for the comparison....
