when someone criticizes your religion, its a free world, you can react whatever way you want, but your reaction also pretty much dictates/shows what your true religion really is. didn't Christ teach the gospel that if your neighbor slaps your right cheek, you offer your left?

personally, if someone criticizes what i believe in, i try to defend it by reason or try to show him why i believe it.. if he still does not believe me, then who cares.. its what i believe in, nothing he can really do about it.. i will be persecuted, lambasted, ridiculed, and other things really, but it doesn't really bother me, because i already know what i believe in, and he simply cannot (or refuse) to see what i have believed in. if he persists in doing that to me, I'd say he is the one being too religious already too.

all in all, I prefer to keep my inner peace than forsake it by retaliating what they are doing to me.
As I see it, attacking people's faith is like someone calling you mother a whore and your dad a pimp. Of course its not true but the question is, are you gonna just sit around and smile painfully?

Like I said before I'm not a born-again christian but I do sometimes get invited to join their worship..my favorite part is when they give their testimonies to the congregation in a humble and tearful manner. You will hear testimonies of faith from a ex-convict, soldier, cop, former drug-addict, burn-out certified accountant etcetera...realized that this thing that they believe change their lives for the better than the latter one they used to have. These folks had hit rock bottom in life and finds that God is all there is way down there; these folks comes to a realization that it's Christ or God is all that they really need to see what life should be.

So its not surprising if these people will get so sensitive if someone tells them that what they believe are simply nothing more than fiction, comics, pink unicorn, delusions, oxy***** and the many words that are being thrown at it...

It's impossible not to get hurt if the person or things you hold dear to your heart is being ridiculed or being thumbed down..unless you only love them half-heartedly or not at all..it's still human to be passionate for something.

Confirmed Catholic but a hypocrite one...before I get married I wanted not to belong to any denomination, I wanted to be simply a Christian. But reality does not permit that, my wife came and there goes my isolationism..hehe..my wife's a devout catholic and so I become one for her sake and peace of mind...looking back it was the right thing to do.

Just think nlang gud nga "God can do anything" He is supreme....

If you question God's abilities, you are like the devil that tempted Jesus in the Desert.

Satan: "If you are God, turn these stones into bread"

    or

"If You are God, throw yourself so that your angels will save you".

How are you sure with that? It is okay to question God's abilities, because if you believe that God is really a God just because of the Bible and because you are forced because of your religion, then you should be careful with that... No I'm not an atheist, but I would just like to clarify things here. The more you search for and question the existence of God, the more you became his true believer. It's because you not only use your reason but also you put belief in it. St. Augustine said, " My heart is restless, until it rests on You." He said this when he found out the truth, St. Augustine keep striving hard to know the truth that he succumbed to many vices until he learned from his mistakes. He was always questioning about the truth but then It was God who was the Truth. That's why Philosophy is prerequisite in the seminary because you need to set up first your foundation for your belief.
