There is no such thing as being too religious. If you believe in God and you feel others who openly express their belief on no God, who then choose to question or attack that which other members love; then you should not be surprised that they would defend that which they love.

When members talk of God as if it is a nothing, a thing, an object; that will be offensive to true Christians, Jews, and Muslims which is 54% of the world's population. I understand that Atheist, non believers, Occultist, and Satanist may not fully understand this. So as long as members indulge in this, there will be members who will be offended. There are over 3.7 Billion who believe in the same God, compared to 1.1 Billion Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic/Atheist people in the world.

Less than 1/5th of the peoples on this planet are of the
Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic/Atheist belief, they need to stop acting like they are somehow a majority. Statically over 2/3 of the members on this forum do not share their concepts of this world, because they believe in a creator who is their God. One must treat the subject of God with a little respect. If they can not be respectful on the subject of God then avoid the subject.

I read the topics and non believers do not treat believers with respect when they comment. They do not have the maturity to conduct themselves a intellectual adults on this forum. The non believers choose to act as if believers are somehow inferior intellectually, when they comment on their faith. There is a hand full of members who can only ask impossible questions to answer and then scoff and insult other members because of their inability to answer the questions they themselves can not possibly answer. Then act as if it supports their position of disbelief. Such a childish game for adults to engage in. They question that which they refuse to understand, and are unable to accept a believers views. That does not make them clever, rather it exposes them as lost in doubts and questions. Believers do not have this problem we do not need to question and doubt, all we had to do is accept. That is just beyond their ability to understand or believe.

The problem with the topics of religion and politics is it exposes the worst of the ignorance, biases, and hatreds in our human condition. Too few are truly capable of being well read, well versed, and well behaved to engage in such topics. Most need to avoid these subjects, because ignorance and false pride will never prevail over the ignorance and false pride of the other side of the argument, that is suppose to be just friendly discussion.

for lack of a word to use, being too religious is not bad.. being fanatical or too attached to one's religion is bad..

when someone criticizes your religion, its a free world, you can react whatever way you want, but your reaction also pretty much dictates/shows what your true religion really is. didn't Christ teach the gospel that if your neighbor slaps your right cheek, you offer your left?

personally, if someone criticizes what i believe in, i try to defend it by reason or try to show him why i believe it.. if he still does not believe me, then who cares.. its what i believe in, nothing he can really do about it.. i will be persecuted, lambasted, ridiculed, and other things really, but it doesn't really bother me, because i already know what i believe in, and he simply cannot (or refuse) to see what i have believed in. if he persists in doing that to me, I'd say he is the one being too religious already too.

all in all, I prefer to keep my inner peace than forsake it by retaliating what they are doing to me.

That is very true, and I try turn the other cheek, but suffer the frailties of any man. This is the internal struggle, to be tolerant, forgiving, loving, and righteous. I fall short everyday, but I still strive to be better than I am. I do not know if I am saved or rather if I have God's grace. I hope I do, but will only know in the end. I am no preacher, am a poor man to judge another. I am lost on this ball spinning at 1,609 km/h while hurling at 107,300 km/h in the vacuum of space, just aimlessly taking the yearly 938,247,552 km revolution around our dieing sun.

I believe in the book, and try to follow the rules and hope to live a good life. I feel no man is more important than another, nor is a man less important than another. We are all just part of one big dysfunctional family suffering mass amnesia due to the blur of time. I believe we have devolved and are just now trying to push ourselves forward again. We must learn what we have already lost before we can evolve to that which we were created to be. That is the lot of life of man. We fear the unknown yet we question, we try to climb the unclimbable, swim the unswimable, and walk were we were not designed to walk. We cry when we laugh, laugh when we should cry, and find humor in despair.

Mathematically we should not exist because the probabilities are almost impossible for all the mechanics that comprise the universe to coexist simultaneously together to allow this Earth to even sustain life. It is a miracle we even exist, and every waking day progresses that miracle. We should not be, yet here were are despite all odds. The secrets of the universe will be revealed to all those faithful in the end.

sorry to tell, don't try to questioned the power of God. Remember the story about Jesus and the devil then then Jesus was very hungry and tired coz he had a fasting for 40 days. The devil tried to test Jesus in 3 times but Jesus answered "Do not put your God into test". SO WE SHOULD NOT QUESTIONED THE POWER OF GOD!

OOOOokkkkk. The purpose of this question is not to prove or disprove God's existence, but to know your thoughts, reactions and opinions. I just wanted to know your way of thinking.

My answer ( I don't know if it's the perfect rebut): God would never test himself or herself in the first place, because if he/she would to that, he would cease to be God in the first place. Remember God is perfect, thus God's a completely logical being.

I should have anticipated this question would lead to more arguments. Anyway, to know whether God exists or not goes beyond our mental capacity.

that logic doesn't make sense hence it's not perfect. i don't know how GOD's being perfect has got anything to do with why he shouldn't test it, worse, cause it to cease his being "GOD". but yeah, you're right, this is going to lead to endless arguments, but those are my thoughts.

Actually the question is the same as asking if God can make something greater than Himself...the answer is so obvious..He can't.
