I almost got an accident due to negligence of a mechanic.
last wednesday i went to an auto shop to fix my exhaust because of a leak it got so annoying on the sound it made so i decided to check it for repairs.
then they welded the hole.
but to weld and patch the hole they have to remove the left rear wheel. after that
everthing was ok.
on friday i picked up my sister at the airport, when we were driving back home i notice a strange noise on the car it was noticable but i just shrugged it off thinking it was the mudguard loose or whatever.
then while i was driving at recla near cebudoc. where my speed was much higher around 70 kph. while i was driving and i veered slightly to the right the noise was loud and as soon as i pressed the brake my brake jammed! i had a hard time stepping on the brakes! imagine driving a multicab van on that speed and suddenly you lose some power on your brakes. it is freakin scary! and i have to wrestle that small vehicle under control while judging the distance with the large trailer trucks on your side! luckily we were near a gas station.
we stopped i got out removed the hub cap on the rear wheel and what i saw was 3 of the nuts where loose!
2 of them are almost on the tip a few turns it would gone off. the other nut was already loose and could easily follow. the remaining nut was still close to the base but you could easily turn it around with your FINGERS to loosen it!
i was shocked and so mad! imagine you have your family on the car and God forbid you got an accident because some lazy mechanic failed to tighten the wheel right! that blatant disregard for the safety of the driver and passengers is inexcusable!
i hope this would serve as a lesson to all.
i already had a word with the owner and settlement is underway.
name and location of the shop is confidential and problem is under negotiations.
