Pwede e.explain unxai mabuhat aning e.update ang video card driver? unxaun man ni?
nia, walay mawala if mgbuhat kog new account?
i suggest if this is the case, try system restore...your computer has restore points wherein you can select the date your computer was working ok....it will however remove any application prior to the date you choose..
na! 2 weeks nako cge balik2 aning system restore. pero System Restor Incomplete pirme.
Na try ni nako na day na nawala ang Stand by mode but niblik ra ghpon sya pag.ugma.
naa pai laing ways ani?
possible ni OS issue na ni...malware/virus ni, tedious process ang manual removal. gamit nku for malwares is malwarebyte anti malware, freeware ra ni siya. need nimo mag complete systems scan..which could take an hr or so. the re-do the process until no more viruses/malware is detected.. then come the hard part about your registry...(bisan ako maglisod ko ug configure ani-1 false move could render your OS unstable). i hope nay mga istoryans na maayu sa regedit....
so for me, best course of action is to back up important files then reinstall windows...i hate to bring up bad news pero mau ni ang solusyon para saku...
have u tried updating your drivers ani....para ma exhaust nato other T/S steps...
Wala nay Standby mode?
Imong keyboard wala pud sleep, wake up, and power key?
Wala pud ni?

Standby IssuesWhen you try to use power management features such as Standby or Hibernate, your computer may not enter the power management state that you choose, and you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
- Your mouse may stop responding.
- You may be unable to open or use the Power Options tool in Control Panel.
- You may receive the following error message:The device driver for the device name is preventing the machine from entering Standby or Hibernation. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update the driver.
This issue can occur if you are using one or more device drivers that do not implement power management functionality correctly because they are not Plug and Play or power management enabled.
To resolve this issue, contact the manufacturer of the driver to inquire about the availability of a driver that correctly implements power management functionality.
To work around this issue, use any of the following methods:
Uninstall the Driver
You can uninstall the driver that is associated with the device that is specified in the error message. For information about how to do so, view the documentation that is included with the appropriate device.
Quit Any Programs that Interfere with Power Management FunctionalityIf you can determine which programs interfere with power management functionality, you can quit these programs before you try to use power management features. Note that some third-party programs that are associated with imaging devices (such as scanners and cameras) may be more likely to interfere with power management functionality.
Mouse Is Not Responding
If your mouse is not responding but your keyboard is still functional, restart your computer, and then use either of the preceding methods:
1. Press CTRL+ESC, and then press U.
2. Press the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW keys one or more times to select Restart, and then press ENTER.

Windows XP---No "Standby" mode available
as what the others have said, update or reinstall the drivers for your videocard, kay more often than not, ma-solve na imo problem. i've read this solution sa microsoft help:
"Why isn't Sleep available?
You might not be able to put your mobile PC to sleep for one or more of the following reasons:
- The video card on your mobile PC doesn't support sleep. Update the driver for your video card, or check the information that came with your mobile PC about your video card and supported drivers. For more information, see Update drivers.
- Some settings are managed by your system administrator. Why can't I change some settings?
- Sleep and other power-saving states are turned off in your mobile PC's basic input/output system (BIOS). To turn sleep on, restart your mobile PC, and then enter the BIOS setup. As your mobile PC starts, instructions typically appear on the screen that indicate which key or keyboard shortcut that you must press to enter the BIOS setup. Because not all computer manufacturers use the same BIOS, different keys are assigned for this purpose. To learn more, check the information that came with your mobile PC or go to the manufacturer’s website."
(this refers to mobile PCs but i guess it applies to desktops as well.)
try pressing F1 sa imo desktop then type sleep, standby, or hibernate.
and please, don't blame everything to malwares or viruses, sometimes, sayon ra kaayo ang solution. you don't have to resort to re-installing windows or re-formatting or installing additional anti-virus softwares. try pressing F1.
