Lucid Dreams

A lucid dream is a dream in which the sleeper is aware that he or she is dreaming. When the dreamer is lucid, he or she can actively participate in and often manipulate the imaginary experiences in the dream environment. Lucid dreams can seem extremely real and vivid depending on a person's level of self-awareness during the lucid dream.

The term was coined by the Dutch Psychiatrist and writer Frederik van Eeden (1860-1932).

A lucid dream can begin in one of three ways. A dream-initiated lucid dream (DILD) starts as a normal dream, and the dreamer eventually concludes that he or she is dreaming, while a wake-initiated lucid dream (WILD) occurs when the dreamer goes from a normal waking state directly into a dream state with no apparent lapse in consciousness. A mnemonic-initiated lucid dream (MILD) can happen when the dreamer intentionally affirms to himself or herself that he or she will become lucid during the upcoming sleep. Reaching lucidity can sometimes occur due to dream-signs or spontaneously upon remembrance.

Lucid dreaming has been researched scientifically, and its existence is well established. Scientists such as Allan Hobson, with his neurophysiological approach to dream research, have helped to push the understanding of lucid dreaming into a less speculative realm.

my experiences
When I was still studying (elementary, high school, and college) I used to have lucid dreams and most of them were associated with ungo, wawak, agta, dwende, tikbalang, multo and mga ingkanto. mostly, i would say, "this is just a dream" then i fought them, at least 3 times a week gyud ni nahitabo sa akoa. There were few times that I was defeated, and i would say, i need to wake up na, ky d na kaya, but i thought that i was already awake, then i was followed then i fought and defeated so i woke up again, but dream ghapon, then until nga tinood na gyud nga nagmata nako.

when i started working na, wala nako mga experiences ani, but the positive effect is, d gyud ko mahadlok maski unsa pa na nga d ingon nato. there was one time third night sa ako work ky night shift man, sud sa daku kaayo nga bodega first pa gyud to nako kadungog ug ingon ato nga katawa nga murag gkan gyud ug higanti pero wala ra man ko ni mind. makakita sab ko mga di ingon nato pero once nga makabantay sila nga kita ko nila, sila man hinoon mudagan palayo, as in paspas ra ba kaayo mudagan, in 1 second lng or isa lng ka lakang.

I had experiences of lucid dreaming sigoro about 4 times already. in all of them i have control sa akong self kong asa ko adto ug sa akong mga buhaton.

positive effect? nothing life changing. hehe.

Yes.

My experience to this is when I am half asleep and half awake. I can control my thoughts which also controls my surroundings and i know its just a dream but very powerful because my subconscious mind takes over and the rest is effortless effort.

there was a point in my life where halos sa osa ka month daghan ko og mga dreams. then it came to a point where makabantay nako nga im entering into dream state. out of nowhere when i was conciously entering into a dream state i heard a voice and i can still remember the words, the voice said; puede man ka maka control sa imong dream, but during that time wala nako ma control akong dream because, i dunno basin trying hard ra kaayo pod. days passed by then nag damgo napod ko, this time concious napod ko nga im in a dream state, then i remember the voice, so i tried to relax and stayed at that moment where i was so concious nga nag dream ko and it was a very beautiful feeling. then hinay hinay nako og control ang akong self, I told myself to fly and i did, hehe. nya it happened again and again till i dreamt nga I was standing in space, and i saw people in front of me and i felt behind me og something nga init so i turned by back and I saw a HUGE and limitless light, it has a golden and white color, ang iyang rays hit my entire body and in my face i felt its wonderful vibration penetrating inside my skin nya it felt very good and very relaxing. then i decided in that dream nga mo padool sa source sa light but io heard a friends voice and i turned my back kung kinsa ang nitawag nako at that same moment nawala ang light, pagbalik nako ug lingi wala na jud. sige ko ug pangita but nowhere to be found. that was my last experience sa lucid dreaming.

hahaha...actually kato siya before sa series of lucid dreams nga na experienced nako. I had series of OROM pod...pwerteng kapoya nga experienced kay inig balik nako ug piyong mobalik na pod og orom. then after ana, nag damgo ko nga nag damgo ko, getz nimo? sa akong dream ga damgo ko nga gi orom kono ko, so inig try nako og open sa akong mata to escape OROM ang nahitabo diay is naa pa gihapon ko sa akong damgo, nya at those times mangutana gud ko sa akong self nga ga damgo pa ko? then i would try to look around to see, makakita man pod ko sa akong unlan, pultahan etc...makasakop lang ko nga damgo gihapon to kay pwerte mang hayaga, kung matulog ko closed man jud ng suga,hehe. then didto na nag start nga ma concious nako kung maka sulod nako og dream state. importante jud nga relax ka.
