If you had to fly from cebu to japan without any navigational aids you'd get lost pretty quickly, but birds do it without any problem. Is this a form of intelligence? You decide.
Douglas Adams famously wrote: " Humans thought they were more intelligent than dolphins because of motorcars, war etc. Dolphins thought they were more intelligent for the same reasons."
The point is that we are very anthropomorphic when thinking about animal intelligence. We have become advanced technologically, but not enough to live in harmony with each other or our environment.
Oh btw, this is evolution too.

Trip, don't fall for it... yes birds can navigate because they are designed to do so... but they could hardly be taught of something new... they rely on instinct... But humans can acquire... If birds can navigate, well we got radar, we got satellite. what the birds do are just plain instinct. Question are we talking about instinct or intelligence?
Dolphins thought they were more intelligent for the same reasons.
--- dolphins have bigger brains than humans... even though they call each other by name... they remain what they are because they are not capable. Humans Reigns supreme to all animals and plants... after all we are the masterpiece of His creation.
