Again, just like the issue that bluedes and I were having, the problem with all this is one of vantage point or viewpoint.

When I first posted that remark, I was using the vantage point of someone looking at the whole rather than the parts. If I were to look at the parts rather than the whole (which I think what most of you are trying to squeeze out of me), then yes, every person is trying to eek out some sort of meaning in his/her life, and thus they are looking for the "point of living". But again, that was not my initial vantage point, and I was hoping that most people who read what I post got it on the first try, but I was wrong. My mistake was in assuming that everyone had a good idea of perspectives and vantage points. Apparently, this is not so.

Sometimes I think this is not an issue if someone is good at something or not--I think that at times, it's more of an issue of the willingness to "step out" of one's "comfort zone" for one moment and looking at an idea from an uncomfortable perspective, even for just a minute or two, to try and figure out what someone is talking about.

we don't just have to believe in God... our purpose of our life here in earth is learn and become god, to regain our godly status, to be reunited with Him, the Source and that's the nature of man

this is very Christian indeed. to regain our godly status....
but to become god is, i'm not sure...this is way too far...maybe to become more like god, but not to become god... this is very Christian, doctrinally sound

If he changed his phrase from "become God" to "become like God", then that's actually quite close to the teachings of a certain MEP (Missions Étrangères de Paris) priest I grew up listening to. These more progressive members of the Catholic church (such as the MEP priest I knew) even state that immortality is not found in heaven, but is found "...amongst ourselves...which is why the church, the people, signify God." Meaning, God is found in you and me, and when we die, the memories of us left in the people, is our immortality.

I say progressive, because this is the MEP doctrine, since 1659...

"Do not act with zeal, do not put forward any arguments to convince these peoples to change their rites, their customs or their usages, except if they are evidently contrary to the religion and morality. What would be more absurd than to bring France, Spain, Italy or any other European country to the Chinese? Do not bring to them our countries, but instead bring to them the faith, a faith that does not reject or hurt the rites, nor the usages of any people, provided that these are not distasteful, but that instead keeps and protects them."
—Extract from the 1659 Instructions, given to Pallu and Lambert de la Motte by the Sacred Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith.

i agree. it's the nature of man to feel satisfied with his state of living. to be fulfilled in his own humanity. it is man's conquest to feel happy knowing there is a God to save him. man has a natural instinct to love and to feel loved. that is why man put meaning to his life eventhough life in itself is meaningless/pointless.

actually, we are dual in nature in this physical plane called "earth": we are ANIMALS and also HUMANS

satisfaction, to love and to be loved are all part of our being animals... animals, love their offsprings, that they are willing to die for them to defend them, they also care for each other... animals also make sure that they are living comfortably and safely, just like us, we work for food and for a better state of living... our animal instincts don't know about God, all we care for is how we can live on this planet earth, and that's the purpose of our life here as animals

it is our human nature that wants to know God and that's the purpose of our existence here on earth, to raise our status from being animals to become human beings then to become gods, to unite with God, as the saying goes... "birds of the same feather, flock together"

the real teaching of Jesus, Buddha, and Mohammad, was the same, to teach and guide humans to become gods, and not just believing in Him as all religion is preaching today... we are here as students of school called "earth" and when we graduate, it's either we will stay with God or come back to school... but not as students anymore but as teachers/masters to help other students, the human beings.

life here is never meaningless/pointless... everything has a purpose, even our being animals has a purpose... we can never know that we are humans unless we experienced being animals, and same us we can never know that we are gods unless we experienced being humans, just like the purpose of right and left... sad and joy... top and bottom... up and down... as so on

if we think that we are only animals living in this planet, then that's the time that we can say that life is meaningless/pointless, but we are not, we were animals, now humans, and soon gods

it's about TRANSFORMATION - (Romans 12:1-2) after we get saved, we will transform into God's likeness.
