I have been striving to keep on topic by explaining my views on why people believe in divinity. In the meantime, there seems to be members of this thread that acutely express an adamant and antagonistic vehemence towards ideas they are uncomfortable with, and therefore have the tendency to "gang up" on such uncomfortable ideas. So apologies to the TS for my own attempts at "parrying" blows to my ideas which I believe I didn't deserve. I entered this discussion with a simple objective and that is to share my ideas on the matter, and not to tangle and tussle with someone who is opposed to whatever idea I share.

maybe "hard-wired", but not made. if we were made to believe in GOD by default, we would have been restricting ourselves to the concept of the divine and not question everything. we would've been like robots.
you say humans were made to worship GOD... or could it be that your parents (or society) made you believe there was/is a GOD? hmmm...
You state here that, you "rest your case" in an attempt to make the readers believe that you have "won" the argument. But the true "reward" you expect deep inside, is for me to totally accept what you believe in and make that publicly viewable in this thread (i.e. an explicit statement from me, in the form of "Hey guys! OMG, bluedes is TOTALLY RIGHT! And I'm TOTALLY WRONG! OMG please forgive me!", and you will never cease posting in iStorya because you enjoy that feeling and it makes you happy and content. And thus, observing these facts, you can never really truly "rest your case".
This is all what this is all about.

alright guys. off-topic na gyud ta. back to the topic. the question of the topic was: is it safe to say that believing in GOD is all in the mind? thus, God does not exist?maybe the answer is already obvious... but the question is certainly nice to discuss. this thread is not meant to offend the believers, but rather, make them have an open mind and consider the possibilities that GOD is just another man-made concept.

i don't think so, chad. based on experience, god seems to be present when you go beyond the mind. which is why, imo, rationalizing god is an exercise in futility.
