A valid observation. However, this statement doesn't answer the question posed by the TS.

ummm.. don't go overboard about feeling good and divine.. it has nothing to do with feeling or divine at all.. (you're talking of something else already)

life is special because it is rare.. it needs certain special conditions to survive.. even death is a part of life.. compare that to a lifeless piece of rock.. how different the two are..

all i can say is.. why don't you choose to be with the stars and the dust... u can just choose to take away your life at this moment and be united with the universe..

but since you are alive.. you still choose to live.. even if you find no meaning in it.. it has its own purposes you are not aware of..

I may find life meaningless, but that doesn't necessarily make me inferior to you, or anyone else, which is basically what you are trying to say in this thread--that people like me are inferior to those who, like you, see "meaning" in life. By doing that, you are no different from the Nazis who once believed that the Aryan race is the only race that mattered in this world, and all the other races are inferior and have no right to live, because they cannot possibly comprehend the complexity of life they way Aryans see it.

gosh.. don't be insecure about your superiority.. you are creating your own enemy.. had I intentions to belittle you, I wouldn't be lenient with my words..

besides, you will just use up your own lifespan without any purpose at all in due time anyway..

I'm not straying from the topic. I'm sharing thoughts and opinions on why humans believe in a divine being. In the meantime, you seem bent on pushing me to end my life (you have expressed it no less than three times), because I don't believe that life has a meaning. Let the readers observe this fact--here is a person who expounds on the importance and meaning of life, yet keeps hinting at someone to end his life. Ironic.

You certainly have a knack at contradicting yourself. You claim to not belittle me, but that very statement already does. If there's one good thing emanating out of this discussion, is that people can finally begin to understand you better, and what you stand for. That is most certainly useful.

nice discussion guys... a little off topic already, but it's all good. afterall, discussions about LIFE are always interesting. IMO, purpose and meaning are two different things. we purposely live to have a purpose only to know that that purpose is unknown. seriously, we all create each of our own purpose and believing in the divine helps define that. on the other hand, for people like me and the non-believers, the definition of life is just that---living. what makes us happy is the fact that we live life in every sense of the word.

People believe in the divine because they refuse to accept that life is actually meaningless and pointless.
    This is an "opinion", right?

Let it be, such watery and shallow one.

i am aware of the topic.. but we are talking about life.. and the meaning of life.. regardless of god or divinity..

i'm not bent on pushing you to end your life.. its just ironic that you find no purpose in life.. like what one post here said.. that's a slow process to suicide.. so why take it slow, i'd love to see that instantiated..

a mere discussion on logic is what I was pointing to.. gosh, don't be so insecure about your superiority, okay.. you definitely are creating your own enemy..
