i agree.. install SP2.
regarding why it doesnt maximizes to 100 on both the logical cores, its simply bec your app is not designed to be MULTI-THREADED.

even on dual core(2 physical cores) or even quad cores as long as the app is NOT multi threaded or designed to split into multi core environ you wont be able to maximize the power of it.

its just like you have a 64bit system while currently applications right now are 32bit.. you still dont maximize the technology.

I had a manual benchmarking by rendering a layered video using vegas, my old CPU was 2.4Ghz, i had at least 40% time reduction in rendering, quite ok... though i'm always monitoring my temp for now, i still have to add some more fans...

I can maximize CPU usage by running other programs simultaenously with rendering...

as we told you, SP2 resolves issues on HT and dual core in splitting the execution into threads.

however if you have bumped into an app that doesnt maximizes the cpu usage to 100% then you know the answer why.
