onT: not really sure but i think they are like us in temperament. some are kind while some are nasty. we once had a mischievous one at our old house. a dwarf playing with the lights at midnight scaring my parents. but not us, i was 6 then and my brother was 3. i can't really remember. it went on for several nights until my lolo came and talked to the dwarf, so they say. then it stopped.

speaking of mga ingon ana ba..a friend of mine asked one of his artist friends..who's into concept art..and that friend of his said that he has researched most of the local "ghosts" and "ghouls" and others things that go bump in the night..and he mentioned that the concept of a tikbalang isn't originally ours because basically here in the philippines..horses hardly is part of the local fauna and was introduced only when the spaniards came here. even the "dwende" isn't an original concept since its basic and original concept design is based on western faeries and gnomes..complete with pointy hat and shoes..even the aswang is considered part of the "were" family (werewolf, werebadger etc.) even the kapres or agtas are just crappy rip offs of the concept of giants in the west..the only thing that is sort of original is the concept of the anitos (just the word)..or spirit of dead relatives..it made me think..everything is just in the mind..if ever naa mai mga "beings" that somehow mysteriously gained independent thought and intelligence i think they're all dependent on how we perceive them..just mirrors of our own imagination since it has been ingrained sa atoang utok ang about ungo and all..then power of the mind takes over..ang question lang dha is g unsa pag gain ug independence sa kani na mga "beings"..nga mura man they have a mind of it's own..nakahunahuna kog experiment let's just say na mawala jd kunohay ang mga spirits when mag offer kag chicken na puti or any animal basta puti..what if atong ipa blindfold ang kadtong mananambal then hand him a black chicken or any animal pero ato lang ilaron na puti na manok atong gihatag..will the ritual still work?..hehe! i don't know kng unsaon na..pero what if lang ba..the same ba jd kaha ang effect..dli lang sa nato hunahunaon ang spirit na gi please kai that's another experiment nman pd..ang purpose sa kani na experiment is to prove na it's all in the mind ra..kai honestly the efforts of explaining the human brain is still a work in progress..so we'll never know yet kng asa ang limit ug mga hidden capabilities sa brain..it's located at the top of our body so that's something jd.

i have to agree that it's all in the mind and it's psychological in nature. but then again, like you said, the human brain is a work in progress. but for now, i'd have to settle on the psychological part of it. why do some people experience this "strange" phenomena and some don't? third eye? i don't believe in the "third eye" concept since that would almost fall under pseudoscience which, by the way, is untestable using the scientific method. i'm a skeptic, and as a skeptic it would be hard for me to conclusively say that these entities exist.

@chad_tukes: still the same bulb, sir. but you could be right, something was wrong with the bulb. it lights up fine except at 12mn when it lights up like a christmas light. on and off. it scared my parents. but i was happy with it, if my vague memory serves me right. we had a really cool bulb

.. feeling them is actually a normal reaction to your brain, coz you sort of think that they are there and so your senses are triggered and you act as if they're near you. But to actually see them, that would be cool. I went to mountain view alone, went to the most dark areas and called out the Others, but nothing. It's really silly. hehehe
