1. Open-mindedness means looking at everything honestly. Are you willing to do that with Christianity? Do you want to see what Jesus has said, and learn about what He can offer you?
2. If you say you are going to remain open-minded, and not accept Christianity, then in reality, you are being very closed-minded. Maybe Christianity is true. Your "open-mindedness" could keep you from discovering it.
Fanaticism is an emotion of being filled with excessive, uncritical zeal, particularly for an extreme religious or political cause or in some cases sports, or with an obsessive enthusiasm for a pastime or hobby. Philosopher George Santayana defines fanaticism as "redoubling your effort when you have forgotten your aim"; according to Winston Churchill, "A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject". By either description the fanatic displays very strict standards and little tolerance for contrary ideas or opinions.
Noun:1.A person motivated by irrational enthusiasm (as for a cause).
Adjective: 1. Marked by excessive enthusiasm for and intense devotion to a cause or idea.
Religious fanaticism can be defined as fanaticism related to a person's, or a group's, devotion to a religion. However, Religious Fanaticism is a subjective evaluation defined by the culture context that is performing the evaluation. What constitutes fanaticism in another's behavior or belief is determined by the core assumptions of the one doing the evaluation. As such, there is currently no constant academic standard for what defines a fanatical religious position.
