As to spirit, occultism teaches that,,Matter is but Spirit on the lowest plane, and spirit we are told, is but Matter on the highest, hence the old axiom "As above so below"
All is spirit and these differentiations are but the products of finite mind.
The word "spiritual" does not refer to religious matters, so called.
All activity w/c drives the human being forward towards some form of development-
physical, emotional, ,mental, intuitional, social-if its in advance of his present state,,is essentially spiritual in nature & is indicative of the livingness of the inner divine entity.
As to the 5 senses and the SELF (Soul)
The senses might be defined as those organs or media whereby man becomes aware of his surroundings.
means whereby he makes investigation on the plane of the gross physical, the means whereby he buys his experience, discovers that w/c he requires to know, whereby he becomes aware, & whereby he expands his consciousness.
Occultism teaches that the whole object of the senses is to reveal the NOT-SELF, & to enable the SELF therefore to differentiate between the real & the unreal.
Ordinarily the soul is defined as... a word to express the sum total of the psychic nature-the vital body, the emotional nature & the mind stuff, but it is also more than that.
Occultism teaches that the soul therefore, is neither spirit nor matter, but is the realtion between them.
The soul is another name for the Christ principle, whether in nature or in man.
The soul is the CONSCIOUS FACTOR in all forms, the source of that awareness w/c all forms registers & of that responsiveness to surrounding group conditions w/c the forms in every kingdom of nature demonstrate.
The soul is the perceiving entity produced through the union of Father-Spirit & Mother-Matter.
