Default LYNYRD SKYNYRD- God and Guns

Unsa inyo ikasulti aning new album sa Lynyrd Skynyrd? Some reviews would say mura na daw sila ug southern version sa Nickelback and their sound is now a little similar to that of their tourmate 3 Doors Down pero naa man gihapon ang pagka southern rock... and of course country rock....

This album features the guitar works of John 5, best known as the guitar player of Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie...

    oh yes...the Lynyrd Skynyrd$$$$

they used to be great.... still love the classics though.....

Stone Black Cherry were influenced by Lynyrd, and Lynyrd ripped up Stone Black Cherry.. its as confusing as their line-up...hehehehe not even John 5 nor Rob Zombie

pagkamatay ni Billy i think that was the last straw to the band...

oh yes,,,,,, maypag RAZORBACK nalang! wet wew...hehehee

hehehe yah Razorback!!!... Pero if i want to have some good time rockin' with southern twangin and mainstream appeal, then i'll probably put this album on than say, the latest Nickelback...

John 5 ?!! di nako ma imagine ang iang style ibutang sa Skynyrd. in that case di na gyud nila ma capture ilang classic nga sound.

actually listening to the whole album dili man ka maka bantay which is played by John 5. his guitar works on this is just similar to the rest. Lynyrd Skynyrd now is like an edgier version of Nashville's Country Music and countrier version of 3 Doors Down

yah.. daghan man tao who can play almost anything.

a great example is Jesse Sprinkle, he's the former drummer of Poor Old Lu (grunge/alternative), Demon Hunter (metal), Dead Poetic (emo/pop-punk), Morella's Forest (showgaze) and currently Burning Daylight(country music).

Aside from drumming, he also write songs and plays guitar for his solo folk-rock project and his acoustic power-pop band The World Inside.

And he also plays electric guitar and sings and rap on A Cold Vein, a rap-metal/nu-metal band...

Then in 2006, he released an album of compiled works from 1996-2006 called A Collection. listening to the Cd is like listening to different artists..

The song Floyd, still from the new album features vocals by ROB ZOMBIE...

In the 70's, the song can be described as southern rock but on today's Nashville standards, it could be called a country rock song ala Montgomery Gentry.

John 5 also co-wrote some songs...

and Jerry Douglas of Alison Krauss and Union Station played pedal steel.

The album is the last album with performances by the late Billy Powell, Hughie Thomasson and Ean Evans.

It's a great mix of southern rock, modern rock, and nashville country music...
